comgrats! do you have a facebook giants?

I also submitted my application several minutes before 12:00 AM on Nov. 1 and overnighted my rec's

congrats! do you have a facebook giants?

congrats do you have a facebook giants!

ugh I hate my comp!

Did people generally send in more than one rec? I thought they only asked for one teach rec?!?! I've only asked for one teacher to write a rec.

oh well gratz giants :) im glad for you, and a bit jealous ;D

i was just wondering, when you guys who were admitted, got your acceptance letters, did they already have all the classes that you could transfer ? or was that a separate thing that you did afterwards ?
:)

giantsfan1- congratulations!! it's good to hear success stories!!

to everyone who is lurking on here and not registered, i swear i am not this crazy in real life, it's just the stress of not knowing! lol

MohamedAlloo- i think you have a good chance, just make sure you are involved in extracurricular activities and stuff like that.

i hope the rest of us hear soon! i'm still expecting a rejection letter and i just want to see it already!

mohammed-this early in the admissions process one quarter of work wont mean much...it will primarily be about your hs record...if you could have gotten in in hs you will have a chance, if not, well....put in a couple years

ns-yes, in my acceptance at least it included the classes that would transfer to nyu, although a couple of those are still being worked out

giantsfan-congrats, you were a very strong applicant it looks like...youre the kind of person who is most likely going to make up the brunt of the cas transfer class this year, not easy to get in u should be proud of yourself...see ya at nyu!

i really thought i would know by now.

i'm finished with finals and now this is all that's on my mind.

i don't really understand the process they go through; how they decide who goes first and last etc. this is very frustrating and difficult to not think about.

I feel your pain, Michael. This is BRUTAL. Hope we are rewarded for our patience. :)

yea.. seriously.. its not that much fun anymore :P
i have like 1 more final, tomorrow.. and it just sucks with this whole waiting.. i just called them this morning again.. and they said the same thing they always say..

'decisions are being mailed out and should be finished within the next week..'

ugh.. this sucks so bad.. and considering my girlfriend goes home to sweden for christmas on the 16th, and im staying here cuz my brother is visiting.. if i dont find out b4 the 16th.. i wont know whether ill see her again until next summer or just when she comes back after winter break.. i mean i still wanna get accepted :P but it would suck to have to call her and be like.. hey.. i wont be here when u get back.. but ill see you in 5 months..

ahh.. this whole thing is annoying.. i had thought i would know by mid november and now its mid december.. i still need to prepare everything if i were to be accepted.. doubtful though.. probably got rejected.. i hope not..

this isnt really ok..

On an unrelated note, Michael, I bet we are going to get our letters on the same day. I just had that epiphany and figured I'd share it with you. My inclination is that we will hear on saturday!

EastCo22221- i hope you are right!! that will be crazy if we both get letters from nyu on saturday or even on the same day, hopefully acceptance letters!

ns89- it is basically mid december now huh! i hope you find out tomorrow or before the 16th too so you can have a proper goodbye with your girlfriend! i'm sure you are going to get in though, it's just a matter of when you will hear back.

if this forum did not exist i would be freaking out even more thinking that they forgot about me or something. it's good to know people are in the same boat. i really hope all of us are rewarded for our patience too, but you never know! ugh!

yea .. i really hope i do find out before she leaves, we'll see what happens.. :P
yea i know.. but it sucks that some of the people who have waited this long will get rejection letters anyway.. itll be like what was all the worrying for.. its too bad.. i hate it..
i really just wanna get an acceptance letter.. ASAP :P
and i hope you guys also get em :)

I second that ns... I really hope we all got in. How fun would it be next semester to reminisce about how stressed we all were!? Ah!!! I want to get in so badly!

Hey guys, I'm a Spring 2009 transfer applicant as well...

I got my acceptance letter on Monday (my brother back home told me when he read my mail) while I was away at school.

I applied to the Steinhardt school and I'm transferring from Stony Brook.
My stats are:
3.24 GPA (I know... Chemistry killed me... so did two other classes)
Standing: 2nd year but with Junior status (would've been a senior by spring semester if I stayed in Stony Brook because I was planning to take 6 credits this winter, 18 -19 credits this spring and 12 credits this summer)
Major: Studio Art
Minors: Art History, Business Management

Just to let you guys know... I really believe NYU is very holistic in their reviews of the applications because I seriously thought the admissions committee would laugh in my face at my grades.
Mind you, my GPA wasn't an upwards trend either... it was actually a roller coaster! 3.4 for Fall 07, 3.67 for Spring 08, and then I plummeted to a 2.5 for Summer... this semester I think I'll get a 3.6 or higher but NYU doesn't have that info... yet!
I think what did it were my essays/short question answers, my supervisor's recommendation letter and my writing professor's letter.

So don't lose hope!

Oh and to answer someone's question: I didn't receive the financial aid letter yet. I called the financial aid office and someone informed me that I should be receiving it sometime next week.

seirfelats- congratulations!! where in steinhardt did you apply?

i hope the rest of us find out today! good or bad, i just want to know at this point.

nothing in the mail for me. i literally laughed when i opened the mailbox and saw nothing from nyu. it is december 12 and i have still heard nothing. at this point i think i didn't get in. i just think it is crazy that i actually thought i would hear november something or the first week of december.

is anyone else still waiting???

I'm still waiting! I'm still waiting! Nothing for me, again, Michael. Now I'm starting to believe that we will receive our decisions by monday. I seriously am having trouble sleeping because this is starting to completely take over my life! Haha! If only they knew what this was doing to us! Good luck to all who are still waiting (and me :)) and again, congratulations to those who have been accepted!
