2009 Unassigned Hall Notice

What does that mean?

Is it better if i just select a LLC now instead of risking it?

I applied late april, early may.

Here is the offical explanation ( see [U of I Admissions: Blog Blog Archive Updating your residence hall preferences](http://blog.admissions.illinois.edu/?p=2789) ):

“If you are currently unassigned, don’t panic! We will have a place for you. We are continually updating our open spaces, and we will try to place you in one of your preferences.”

Unofficially, it means you have a significant risk of ending up in temporary housing (which usually is not that bad). What you decide based on that is up to you. You can, as the site notes, now request a living learning community. That might give you a better chance of avoiding temporary housing but if the particular LLC already has enough students to fill its allotment of rooms (likely for all or most of them), it won’t change anything.

That happened to me last year and I decided to apply to a LLC, Weston Exploration to be exact. It’s a pretty good place considering its in the 6-pack and you don’t have to do any of programs if you don’t want to.
