2010-2011 admission season!

<p>I'm so excited! I plan to apply to five schools. I think August is the best time to begin your search for schools and narrow your list to 3-6. What schools are you planning to apply to and do you plan to reapply? </p>

<p>Here's my application time table</p>

<p>**September
-fill out the general information on all five application(school address,home address, activities, other contact info)
-request financial aid info
- September 18th---Attend the St. Vincent Ferrar school fair(Deerfield + Peddie reps will be present)
-Before the end of the month schedule interviews</p>

<p>**October
-Begin Essays, short answer questions and make a list of questions unanswered by the school's website or other school.
-Read for recreation(Will increase my vocab when I edit and revise my Essays)
-Complete two S.A.T practice test before the 30th</p>

<p>**November
-Distribute recommendations
-Submit Financial Aid application
-Read for recreation
-Edit and revise Essays and other writing and submit my application
-Complete two S.A.T before testing day.
-Take S.A.T
-check on the progress of recommendations before the end of the month
-Recommendation should be complete by the end of the month and submitted(Including transcripts) </p>

<p>December
-Read for recreation
-Begin to work on thank you notes(get holiday themed ones!)
-hand out thank you's to teachers before the break</p>

<p>January
-Send thank you notes to interviewers and admission officers who were very helpful.
-send tax forms.</p>

<p>February-March
-Cross fingers, continue to get A's and keep reading.</p>

<p>**Interview might occur this month</p>

<p>Remember to keep days for fun and days to work on your application. If you spend half your time having fun with family and friends and if you don't get in it won't sting as bad. Stress less. Buy comfort food before March 15th...you might need it.</p>

<p>I’m applying for my junior year. I’ve scheduled interviews/tours to: Choate, Andover, Hotchkiss, Berkshire, Kent, Middlesex, Groton, and St. Paul’s. I’m really excited I want to go to BS so so so badly!</p>

<p>We did tours/interviews over the summer for our older D, a rising 8th grader. We plan to visit just the schools to which she/we are interested in applying in the Fall. </p>

<p>Otherwise, innerstars timetable looks like a good one to follow…</p>

<p>this might be a stupid question but what does “D” stand for? Like when someone says “for our older D, a rising eighth grader”</p>

<p>It’s shorthand for daughter…like bs for boarding school…</p>

<p>As I said on another thread about interviews/visits. We did them in the summer and fall. We didnt apply anywhere until we decided where she felt she fit in.</p>

<p>Though my d is very self assured and confident, the interviews were a good practice, especially the ones in the summer when the environment was so relaxed. </p>

<p>There is a lot of stress in the fall when the schools are full of kids interviewing.</p>
