Is there a difference?

I guess it’s the same. But I complete it in euros, maybe this is the difference…

The CSS application customizes itself to the applicant. If you are an international student, you will automatically get the international version of the form.

hey say you wanna apply for financial aid to all your universities and they all use the CSS profile. Can you change the contributed amounts (ie the total amount you/you parents can pay), according to which university you want to get into and how competitive it is to gain admission? i created a separate thread for this … really need a quick response.

Thanks a lot in advance. =)

Dunno, sounds like cheating to me…

You can do whatever floats you boat. Colleges will ignore that number anyway. If applicants got to choose their own contribution, no one would be paying for college ;)

Then why do they ask?

Because it is a standard form? Colleges didn’t get to pick the questions.

Every college asks, even those that have their own forms.

They might be using the numbers for the admissions round, but later the financial aid office will make their own decision about your family contribution. A couple of years ago none of the financial aid offers I got used my self-determined family contribution. All colleges expected me to contribute more than what I had indicated - from 20% more to 120% more.

But to end this discussion, I just realized that you cannot edit the CSS Profile once it got submitted. You can submit the same form to more colleges and review the information you gave, but you cannot go back and change the numbers.

Thanks a lot guys!!
