So... who here's applying, and what do you have left to do?

I've done everything except for... the essays. But those should be easy considering I'm good at procrasti-writing. :)

I’m applying. I know the deadline is the 30th. Does this mean everything needs to be submitted by the end of the 29th? I have a letter of support that is still pending.

Hopefully it’s the former (I think it is).

Applying, scared about the selection process in my state; I heard last year the competition was brutal and it was GPA>SAT scores. I wish I knew more about HA.

We have through the 30th to submit.
My school had two recipients for the 2009 state scholarships.
I am a bit worried about my stats, too. I will be graduating with a 4.0 or higher, but because of my medical adversity I have to appeal within my school for grades in participation-based classes to be altered. It’s grossly unjust to fail a student in gym when they are too weak to participate.
And my second ACT score won’t be available to use yet. I wasn’t able to take it as a Junior.
Hopefully all of this just serves to strengthen my appllication as they are obstacles I have overcome. ;)

I’m applying too. I’ve finished everything but what does Scholar Snapp App mean? It’s an option/button on the Application Home Page? Do I need it to fill out my application, or is it not required? I have no clue what this is…

Didn’t do the Scholar Snapp app. Maybe it’s an app for certain students to send mass applications to other scholarships without repetitively filling out the same data fields. I have no clue…

Yeah, that’s actually what the Snapp app does, I just found out.

I find it kinda strange how there’s no “Submit” button… does that mean that the whole application just gets sent on its own to the Committee to review?

Wait, it says:
Does that mean we have to wait till the spring? Because that would suck.

How competitive is it?

Are you supposed to submit your SAT scores? I didn’t find anything about that on their application.

Yes. The scholarship is automatically sent out.
Now I am just waiting to see that my paperwork has been received.

I pulled this from the FAQ’s section.
“When are the winners notified? Are applicants who have not won also notified?
Only awardees will be notified personally. Everyone may view the names of the recipients when they are posted online in January.”

I’m at the same place with the paperwork.

Do you have to submit your SAT scores?

My counselor listed my ACT score (I’m from the midwest.) on my certification form.

Oh, right. What about the SAT IIs? I did so bad on Math II b/c of stupid stray marks that they wouldn’t rescore (of course, they would tell me that after I paid). I wonder if you can send another standardized test to them after you apply.

Thanks for the info.

It says not to submit new scores. I wish we could. :(
I don’t remember seeing a place for SAT II’s, but I was crunched for time and dropped it off at the office without a second thought. Then I went straight from the school to mail it.
I found the scholarship a week before it’s deadline. Ha!

Me too! I got an email from one of those scholarship engines (which I usually ignore and delete without reading), but this one seemed to appeal to me. It was so hard to find a rec before the deadline (especially considering how swamped teachers are for EA and ED). I’m afraid the rec might not be too good… it was submitted in like 20 mins

Damn that sucks though. Well at least they don’t see my terrible score for Math II (I am NEVER using a dark #2 pencil AGAIN).

And now we wait…

Ugh I wish I didn’t procrastinate so much on my essays (hands were full with EA/ED…)., as I made two typos in my essays somehow. Oh, and, my guidance counselor did my recommendation (I gave her a biographical essay).

We cant notify them about updated higher SAT/ACT scores???

^ Nope. Unfortunately.

 It’s almost winter break. Once we come back to school, the following Tuesday we will see the results of the national scholars online. Best wishes everybody.

Btw, we only submitted one rec from our teacher, and like 1 form from the GC, right? I will freak if I’m missing anything.

Could someone explain the meaning of this to me?

Isn’t it waaaaaay too early?
