2010 ACT test dates

2010 ACT test dates

Just happened to look at the ACT website and noticed that there is no September test in the US....

For those of you who have been around admissions awhile, is this common? and can the October test be used for ED or is it too late?

That’s interesting because there was one on Sept 12 this year.

Yup, I thought so too…maybe because the Saturday test date is 9/11? or is it possible that they alternate the Sept date in and out of the country every year?

Or is that their way of saying they really need to finish testing when they’re Juniors?

I doubt the ACT with writing can get sent out in time for Nov 1 deadlines. My D is planning to take it in Oct this year and I think it will be too late for ED/EA deadlines. It may make it by Nov 15, but even then it’s cutting it close.

QM: somebody on the SAT/ACT forum responded with a link to Yale’s (haha, as you know) admission page that stated Oct ACT was fine for SCEA…yup, we will have to check daughter’s list of schools if and when the time comes…maybe we’ll be lucky and be done after June…

What?!? Your daughter is not applying to Yale? For shame, what are you even doing on this board?! (OK, bad joke, but really I sometimes feel like a poor relation around here). Anyway, it’s a good thing you checked early.

You should check with each individual school, but most accept Oct testing for EA/ED.

ACT Sept test date was 9/12. Maybe it’s not listed any more since that date has passed.

Lafalum: Actually, I read the note wrong (as descartez pointed out on another thread)…the 2010 date is September 11th; the note was referring to US territories, not the 50 states…thanks to all who posted though…
