OK, so I've taken the AMC 12A today. I'm wondering how everyone felt after the test. Did anyone think that the test was more difficult than the 2009 AMC 12A? Was it a difficult exam for you? When do you think the questions on the 2010 AMC 12A became harder?

What do you think you got on the exam?

That AMC12 was exceptionally easy, people from our school answered every question on it and we all had about the same answers. It’s pretty definite that everyone here is going into AIME. I don’t know about you, but that was really really easy.

we cannot talk this until Wednesday night…

This makes me mad. I had no school today, so I couldn’t take it :(.

I’m taking it Friday. That means I get to look at the answers before I take the test, haha.

iArizona is a ■■■■■, analogous, there’s a disclaimer saying that if you take it after the date, your scores are void.

Someone should post or pm me the answers they got.
Specifically the log one, the degenerate one, and the one about x^2+y^2=k^2.

Probably later tonight to ensure everyone has taken it.

I did about20 pts worse than last year. So yea… Way harder this year

Yes, aluminum boat, I thought the test was more difficult than last year. I believe the log one was the easiest of the three that you mentioned above. And yes, everyone can discuss the test by tonight or tomorrow. I think tomorrow would be a safer bet.

The first 12 or so were really easy.

Definitely advanced to AIME. Last year’s was easier than this year’s. Final year for me to try and qualify for USAMO! Let’s goooo.

(No answers until some later time).

A lot of places won’t even start until 8 PM EST or even later.

I hate math currently.

I took it today…

I have to get at least one of the 6 that I wasn’t sure about to qualify…

I did exactly 14 problems, and after comparing answers, I got them all right (unless we all got them wrong; very unlikely).

I enjoyed the frog/toad question.

I just tried to do 6x14 - 2.5x11 and failed. I don’t think I should ever do math again.
Unless you guessed on the other 11?

^^ do you mean 14x6 + 1.5x11? Where did you start finding the increasing difficulty during the test?

I actually felt that the difficulty started increasing after the first question. It seemed as though each question was progressively harder. Almost as if it were their intention.

I meant 6x14 + 2.5x11 actually. I was under the impression that you get 2.5 for each blank answer? And nothing for each incorrect answer?

Regardless, I can compute none of those. I will be the first to point out how pathetic that makes me.

Why didn’t you look at the real answers?

holy ****! That AMC 12a was sooooo hard! I am in Canada, but I wrote it today. Unreal. I answered like 10 and I think I got like 5 of those wrong and left everything else blank. I had a practice AMC 12a from 2003 and I got an 80-85 score on it. This one was 10 times harder today.

I;m in grade 11, but still…so hard! I didn’t even bother reading any question after number 14…no joke…don’t even know what those question are. Didn’t even bother.

//I was under the impression that you get 2.5 for each blank answer?//

No. It’s been 1.5 for quite a few years.
