oh I want to know what i got! can somebody PM me the answers?

I thought there was supposed to be no discussion???

Go crazy.

AMC 12A is definitely harder than last year.

My S2 was a USAMO qualifier last year and his score dropped by about 20 points this year. Now he has to count on AMC 12B or else (lol).

On the art of problem solving forum there is a lot of discussion ([Art of Problem Solving Forum](http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/Forum/index.php?f=133&sid=ca8073ff5ec3a75cae2415def95045b2)) on the projected cutoff score for AIME this year which will be lower this year.

Given the changes made to USAMO, it is expected that both AMC12 and AMC10 will be a lot harder than previous years.

Well, for those math nerds, there are always other national and regional contests (ARML, HMMT, Mandelbrot, etc.), but nothing can be compared to AMC/AIME/USAMO/IMO series as this is how the USA IMO team is selected and it is so near and dear in our hearts.

Good luck to all!

Could not wait to join in the Math Jams and see how Dr. Rusczyk dissects the problems tonight. See you guys online…

Honestly, I didn’t think it was significantly harder to qualify for the AIME. The first 13 were very doable (actually downright easy), and to qualify, you just need 1 more. I found number 14 fairly doable.

Perhaps the difficulty of the later questions were much more difficult though. I didn’t really bother to try them out.

97.5 argh…please let the cutoff be lenient lol

Can someone copy and paste the answers? My computer won’t open it

AHAHAHAHAHAHA. I did better than I did last year. Occasionally I decide to be capable of doing math. Yesterday was evidently one of those days.

Can you send me the answer key please?

121.5

I thought 1-21 weren’t bad. I did not think during the test that it was harder than last year. But after looking at other people’s scores, it does seem that people scored significantly harder. And 22,23,25 are b itches to solve, lol.

You’re the first person I’ve heard that has done better that took it last year. Lol

Yeah, I thought it was way harder too. I think all my standardized testing/AP taking skills have made me better at guessing.

But 121.5 is really good.

can someone pm me the answers as well please?

See post in the previous page - Art of Problem Solving.

I got a 90. Oh well, I don’t normally do these math competitions. I skipped AMCs for the past three years, so this is my first (and last) time in high school.

Can someone pm me the answer key?

Yeah, well I got a 99 because I can’t count apparently. Not really happy about that. When do the cutoff scores come out?

my friend got a 132, 3 stupid mistakes. I wish I could work quickly enough for amc12

AMC 12B tomorrow. Biggest advice: Get 1 more hour of sleep than you usually do.

There shouldn’t be time constraints on these tests unless you’re shooting for a really high score
