How did everyone do? What was the curve like?

Although we can’t know for sure, the general thinking is that the curve was quite generous. I got a 5 and was predicting a 3.

The curve was definitely VERY generous. I learned nothing in the class (terrible teacher) and literally just crammed the Sunday/night before. Went in expecting a 2, came out expecting a 2, ended up with a 4. :)

I haven’t received mine yet.

There seems to be no thread for the official ap biology score report… so I guess we could use this instead.

5: 1 (silverturtle, not me)
4: 1 (bobraymund, not me)

I got a 5, expecting a 4… but the only reason I was expecting a 4 was because I knew the Bio AP had a ridiculous curve… as far as knowing the material I felt 3-ish. It was a self study for me and I made the mistake of spending a ton of time becoming a master of Molecular Biology, without spending enough on Macro level topics (taxonomy and human physiology killed me). I would say, to answer your question, the curve was extremely generous; perhaps detrimentally generous, to the reputation of the exam anyway. I /should/ have gotten a 4, basically, is the way I feel.

5: 2
4: 1

I got a 4, when I was expecting a 2, or 3 at best. So I’d say either I really suck at estimating how I did on tests, or there was a really steep curb.

expected a 5, got a 5

Got a 5.

The curve was pretty ridiculous, I skipped a whole FRQ and pretty sure bombed a lot of questions and still ended up with a 4… yay!!

5: 4

Out of all the AP tests I did, bio was the one I cried after…I genuinely expected a 2.

I got a 5. I still don’t know how that happened.

Wow, looks like the curve was very generous. Hopefully I’ll see a 5 when the scores come out in my region

I’ll be the first one to say that I * over * predicted my score. But it doesn’t matter anyhow because I’ll be re-taking all of those courses in college. I digress.
I studied for a 5. I skipped over ecology (FANTASTIC) and so that essay ended up killing my score in addition to the fly experiment that my class never went over.
Ah well, I should’ve kept up my efforts until the end. It was my mistake and I take responsibility for my 4.
Life goes on I guess.

Expecting a 4.

My teacher only taught the molecular portion and no ecology at all. We did not study animal behavior at all, did not study the kingdoms well enough, and we rushed through all the organ systems 2 weeks before the AP. Maybe (actually hopefully) I got 12-20x on the mc and a 20/40 on the short answer. Nobody could imagine that the ap would be unfair like this. I only studied the molecular portion and plants, since that’s what the ap was mostly about last year (2009).

I think the curve was really generous. Everyone I know got a 5 on the AP Bio exam. My teacher was really good at preparing us for the exam. I was definitely expecting a 3 or 4 since I only explained two of the essay questions well and scribbled down random things for the last two prompts in 5 minutes.

I over-studied so much so I knew I got a 5…I think one thing we should leave behind for our younger peers is that you DONT have to prepare that much for the test…getting a 5 is ridiculously easy
