2010 AP Computer Science Discussion

I really hope it’s that low.

Who else didn’t finish MC?

Barely finished MC randomly guessed on row column on col += 2

phx fire that’s correct, actually. That’s what I got. Also yeah, tomorrow I see how epically I failed on GW free response.

Do you think you got a 5?

If the curve is slightly lower than 60/80, I might have gotten a 5, which would be a miracle, because I went in praying for a 4.

Hey guys. I’m taking the late exam any tips?? Gridworld. From what I heard from
u guys the gw fr sounds like one of the crabs??? nything specific I should focus on

^ Can’t tell you, too paranoid I’d be accused of cheating. Would not recommend a question phrased like that in a post-test discussion thread.

Yeah, don’t want to give you an unfair advantage, but the test is killer - if you don’t know java. Other than that my lips are sealed. Good luck =].

Yeah 60/80 give or take seems to be a good curve. Also, since this is a “new” exam since they took away AB and integrated some concepts into this, the curve is usually lower. If you look at grade distributions from last year, 23% got fives. That’s one of the largest five rates of all of the exams. Also 29% got ones and only 8% got 2s, this just tells you that this is sort of an all or nothing test.

lets all hope the curve is going to be low this year

The late exam uses different FRQs and MCs than the regular exam … so there aren’t really any “tips” you can gain from hearing what happened on this year’s regular exam. Just prepare for it like you would’ve prepared for the regular exam.

is it harder ( the make up)? i mean was the test more conceptual or coding?

@azndarkvader: CrabCritters aren’t tested on the AP exam. You’re only responsible for knowing Bugs, Critters, ChameleonCritters, and the various Location and Grid methods.

The makeup isn’t supposed to be harder than the regular exam; it’s just supposed to be a different version of the exam — just like this year’s exam is a different version of last year’s exam.

Just because it isn’t supposed to be easier/harder doesn’t mean it won’t be.

I honestly thought the 2009 AP was a breeze, but I didnt finish this one cuz i panicked

Ya on the free response you just have to extend the crab critter so make sure that you know that. That’s pretty much the only thing about GridWorld that you have to know.

When can we start speaking about the FRQ’s?

I’m pretty sure we can start talking about it today. The FRQs have already been released. However, they haven’t yet released the solutions :(

<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;

but still no solutions

We can talk about them today they said after 48 hrs of taking
