2010 AP Physics B Discussion Thread

i just took mine. frq super hard. left at least 10 parts in total blank.

skipped 10 on mc not too bad. hopefully can still get a 4 (45 mc and 20 on frq)

I think I got 46 on MC and atleast 20 on FRQ , what is the exam out of, and what is the cutoff for a 5? I counted the exam and there are 150 pts in total, but can someone confirm this?

theres 180 points. for todays the conversion factor is as follows (mc correct-mc wrong/4)times 1.285 plus frq score out of 80 times 1.125

so for me (45-5/4)times 1.285 + 20 times 1.125 = 78.7 which isnt a 4 "/ but hopefully i did better than i think. [AP Pass - AP Physicsb Calculator](http://appass.com/calculators/physicsb)

cutoff for 5 is approx 106

Ugh…FRQ ---- MC was okay, skipped 2, absolutly clueless on one that I answered.

I found the MC pretty challenging, but I studied for this test a lot. I can only imagine as hellish it must have been for someone who didn’t study.

I thought the multiple choice was w/e, some of the FRQ’s were easy a couple were very difficult.

The MC was very easy compared to other released. I skipped 5 though. The FRQs were alright, nothing impossible but not super easy.

I bombed the MC, then again I didn’t really study for this one since I studied for bio more. FRQs were ok, I completely answered all parts of the first 3 than random parts here and there for the last 4… hoping for a 3. @_@

wow i wish more mechanics was on this exam >.<…especially on the MC

I thought the multiple choice were more difficult than the other released ones (especially 2004). The FRQs were not terrible, but they were difficult.

This test was sooo hard. Skipped 25 on MC, and guessed about 10.

FRQ were impossible…

I completely expect my first ever 1 on this exam. My class was never told that there wouldn’t be a formula sheet on the multiple choice so I missed about 20 or so questions that would’ve been easy had I memorized the formulas. Plus I did horrible on the FRQ. Oh well, so long as I pass all my other exams I don’t really care at this point.

Wow I can’t imagine skipping 25 questions.

That was AWFUL. I learned nothing in my AP Physics class basically (cause we all know our teacher doesn’t really teach) and with all the other AP classes I had to focus on/music competition stuff, really had no time to study and understand the material by myself. I tried to study this weekend but everything was Greek to me. EPIC FAIL. I skipped about 31 MC questions (I’m quite conservative with guessing) but the FRQ was not too bad…I skipped some FRQ parts but some of them were very very difficult. I’m guessing about 30 MC right and about 50/70 on FRQ. That was just awful…a 3 would be nice.

Skipping 25 questions is not that bad, because:
35 - right
10 - wrong

35 - (10*0.25) = 32.5 * 1.287 = 41.8

If I get about 25 points on FR, it’s enough for a 3.

I think there would be a generous curve based off of people’s reaction in this thread, plus I asked some of my classmates about what they thought on the test and they too thought it was not an easy test.

Hmmm, almost all the kids in my class were pretty confident about getting at least a 4.
(About 150 people took the test in my school)

hope there is a generous curve. the mc was BLATENTLY intended toward one subject, which was my most difficult to learn. kinda stunk

Sweet Jesus. I think I just died.
