I've been checking regularly on Syracuse's main site and commonapp, but it seems the new application and supplement for 2010 haven't gone up yet. Am I blind or just looking in the wrong places? Or does anyone know when the application's supposed to be released?

Feel free to shoot an email to the admissions office or even a phone call. They’ll be more than happy to answer all your questions and you can be sure that it’s the correct information.

Well it actually says early October, so I think the best strategy is to print the guidance counselor and teacher recommendations and have those filled out now, download the packet to see the essays and start on them, and then come early October have the majority of it done and be able to send it out electronically then. (Since they say they prefer electronic submissions)

LessThanSamii - That sounds like a good plan. Thanks!

I don’t know if I should make a new thread or not, but…

Does anyone know if there are any special instructions for teacher recs? I feel like I read somewhere on the website that it must be from an English/History teacher and the other from a Math/Science teacher from your sophomore year up. I may be confusing this with another college, though…

Can they be from foreign language teachers? Any specifications (if yes, where can I locate them)? Can they be submitted online?

Teacher recs should originally be from someone who taught in either of those fields you mentioned but if there is another person in academia that knows you best and is able to shed you in the best light then that should be the person you should be approaching for a recommendation. You should also consider teachers in whom you’ve received an ‘A’ from in their class.
