[2010] College of Creative Studies

I think i got in... it says i have been accepted into the college but then it also says:

"The College of Creative Studies will notify you separately about your admission to their program. If you have questions regarding your College of Creative Studies application you may call (805) 893-8974. If you are not accepted by the College of Creative Studies, you will have the opportunity to select a major within the College of Letters and Science from those listed on our website at <a href="http://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/majorchanges.asp">http://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/majorchanges.asp</a>."</p>

Anyone know whats up?

Deturbanator, CCS will notify you by mail (could take as long as 2 weeks from what I’ve heard) as to whether you’re in; it is a separate admission. But you are still accepted to UCSB and if you don’t get into CCS, you can choose to go to the COL&S.

Oh shoot, I was hoping CCS could send their info along now. I wonder why they don’t, since the application was due in plenty of time for them to do so, IMHO.

Here’s info directly from the CCS website:

Decision by the College

When the college has received all items required for your CCS application, an individual application file is created and circulated to faculty members in your chosen CCS major. For fall UCSB applicants, the College of Creative Studies cannot inform applicants of decisions on their CCS applications until the University of California Santa Barbara has mailed the campus’s admission/deferral letters in March. CCS decision letters follow immediately thereafter. A denial from CCS does not negatively affect your admission to one of the other colleges at UCSB. If you are already a registered UCSB student applying to Creative Studies, you will be informed of the decision on your CCS application as soon as possible after all required items are received and your file is circulated for faculty review. This process normally takes three to four weeks during the fall, winter, or spring quarters while instruction is in session. If you are a registered UCSB student, you may also take Creative Studies classes even if you are not enrolled in CCS, on a space-available basis.

“CCS decision letters follow immediately thereafter.”

So perhaps everyone will hear fairly soon.

it really looks like i made it into CCS

math is part of the college of creative studies? i thought it was more artsy lol

damn i thought i only got into UCSB cuz the CCS liked me =/

The Dean of CCS said they release decisions via snail mail and they would send them this Wednesday. So maybe we’ll hear by the end of the week?

From my reading, the CCS started out with physics and other related fields. Somewhere down the line, the non-math/science fields like art and literature were added. When we went to the info session in LA, the CCS rep (I forget now whether it was the Dean or not) said the word “creative” in the name was to denote the desire to create new knoweldge, even at the undergrad level, which is what CCS is all about.

In any event, it’s the physics area that my S applied for in CCS.

FindAPlace, my daughter also applied to CCS for physics. Good luck to your son!

Anyone hear anything yet?

CCS sent me an email the day after I was accepted. I applied for math but did not get admitted to the program. But no biggie, I am just happy to be accepted into UCSB.

I was accepted into UCSB CCS for Mathematics, it seems like a cool program,
they send you a seperate acceptance.

Are you folks getting notified of the decision by email or snail mail?

My rejection to CCS was notified by email

I just got an envelope in the mail. Accepted! (Chemistry/Biochemistry)

I just got an email accepting me to the CCS. They are definitely sending them by email.

I got accepted into CCS math as well ^_^

Anyone hear from the Biology program??

I haven’t heard anything yet =/ & I applied for Literature
