2010 fall transfer. Chance? Advice?

At the moment I have a transfer application in to FSU. I applied because I find it to be a great school and it the only school I can realistically get in to at the moment. That being said, if I don't get in what schools realistically become options? What are some of my reach school? I intend to major in Psychology and then med school. I am considering applying to the lower ivys like Brown and Cornell in addition to other large schools such as NYU, UCLA, USC. If you have any better suggestions I would be happy to hear them.

My GPA in CC is 3.7. My high school GPA was somewhere around 2.9, hence the transfer.
I honestly don't have any ECs because I'm pretty new to the application process. I slacked off in high school and I am now trying to get into the best school I possibly can. I intend to finish with a GPA higher than 3.7.

My SAT scored are 1720 with a 6 essay. These are almost 2 years old and will be retaken if I have to consider new schools. It should be noted that they will be much higher the second time around.

Sorry for the long post but I am pretty eager to get started and I know the top schools like early applications.

Thanks in advance. =D

if you’re planning to do pre-med, i should rethink planning to apply to any school that won’t meet your financial aid.

i saw NYU and NYU’s transfer financial aid is TERRIBLE.

you will be BROKE while you are in med school and doing your residency, and to accumulate a lot of undergrad debt is a bad choice. (both of my parents are doctors, and my dad actually had to declare bankruptcy because he wasn’t able to pay for his med school loans.)

with that out of the way. . .

NYU doesn’t want you to retake the SATs, they want the scores from high school. you’ll need a few ECs or internships you are passionate about. the 3.7 is great and CAS is in the middle ground of NYU schools.

good luck. transferring to NYU has been really difficult and it’s only getting harder.

I have read about NYU and the terrible financial aid so that was at the bottom. On the opposite end I hear USC has an incredible financial aid but I could be wrong.

Would 1 or 2 legit ECs be enough at a university like Cornell or Brown? I know they are reaches but crazier things have happened and I’m trying to do anything that will help.
