The Horatio Alger notifications should be here by now!
They have posted the winners on the first tuesday of january the last two years...
so...
have you found out?
if you did:
did you win national or state?
list some stats
why do you think you won (essays, rec, etc.)?
and what adversity did you talk about in your essays?

Haven’t found out yet! I keep refreshing the page to see if they updated it!

The list of national winners for 2010 is out…go to Horatio Alger website! Good luck…I didn’t get the national but can still hope for the state scholarship.

I won a Franklin Scholarship (Pennsylvania).
I think I won because I’m pretty poor, my rec. was really good, and my essays on Ben Franklin were pretty good as well.

I talked about my father’s alcoholism and my sexual orientation in my adversities. I don’t know if those have an effect on the Franklin scholarship or not.

I can’t believe that Georgia is late getting their applications in and now they tell me it will be 2 more weeks before the Georgia recipients are announced…but congrats to those of you that have already won…maybe I will know something soon.

Will there be any Florida winners this year for the Horatio Alger Scholarship? Someone please let me know.
