2010 Induction day

Is June 28, 2006 the 2010 class induction day? The letter said for him to report on that day. We will be there earlier. Our parents web site says 6/30. Please confirm it is 6/28.

Thanks,

Go Navy Beat Army

Yes, June 28 is correct.

thank you very much!!

June 28th... ahhhhhhhh, runs in circles bashing self on head with Appointment.

i couldnt even begin to think how it would be to show up june 30th expecting to be inprocessed, only to realize its two days in!!!

I believe today marked 100 days till I-Day

How many days until graduation, Pleber? ;)

It sure did! Last night I mentioned this to my daughter and she responded by giving me her 'evil eye.'

MOOOOOOMMMM, I can't think about that far ahead right now! she cried. Yeah right - I don't blame her...with 6 AP classes, swim season in full gear, and all her leadership stuff I see her point.

But this mom knows 100 days to a mom is one heartbeat away...to a high school senior it's still pretty far off.

I-Day minus 100....happiness and groan from this mom's heart today.

Sigh......

June 28th, 1986.....

I miss Jackie! :D

poor little peskekid...

modadkc...on June 28 there will be different times to report all day long for our incoming Plebes...so be prepared to arrive at the time you're told to. I've read alot of comments from parents that getting onto the Yard that day is a zoo. Some people actually walk on, rather than deal with a car. Your Plebe to be shouldn't have much with him anyway to carry on, so that is one workable suggestion as it turns out. We are not going with our daughter, her request...thanks be to God we contacted a nearby family with a youngster daughter who will not only pick her up on sat. June 24th at the Baltimore airport, but take her to USNA on I-Day for us.

Thank God my grandparents have a house 3 minutes away from when my grandfather worked at USNA.

I believe the USNA will be providing continuous shuttle busses between the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and the yard on I-day- might make getting there easier!

Thanks for the information. We plan to get to know the area a few days ahead of time and "walk" into the yard. We are staying about a 1/2 mile away. I am sure the April packet will detail out the process.

Make sure you get there early for I day, as early as you can. You will be issued so many things you wont know what to do with them, and you have to have everything stowed by the time you go to the induction ceremony, regardless if you arrived at 0600 or 1500. Even though you are adding a few hours to plebe summer it is well worth it.

Do not report prior to the time they give you. In 2004, many ignored their report times and showed up early. The lines got extremely long and the whole process got overwhelmed. If you show up at your prescribed time, things will go smoothly and don't worry.....you will be able to get all of the gear stowed away. First test at following directions....show up at the time they tell you to.

just speaking from experience. many of my classmates who showed up early had a signifcant advantage over us.

Just to clarify: if the USNA gives you a reporting time of 8am lets say, how much time should one allot for traffic, parking, getting to alumni hall, etc?????

I would make sure I planned on arriving to the gate at least an hour before your report time. It is much easier to park somewhere and walk on the yard. Once on the yard depending upon which gate you enter it can be about a 10 -15 minute walk to alumni. Couple tips, make sure you hydrate well the few days leading up to I day, make sure you get a good sleep the days before and most important dont spend those days worrying about plebe summer. As long as you are tough physically and mentally you will be fine. The most important aspect is going to be earning the respect of your cadre and classmates. Any other questions let me know
