it depends on which program you applied for because each program has a different number of students it’s allowed to accept

Congrats for getting into UNC. I am interviewing this weekend. Do you know if they mention anything about deferring your acceptance when you interviewed or when you received word of your acceptance?

toxbound:

They told us that we would hear in two weeks regarding whether or not they would give us an admission offer. I found out two days after my interview via phone call. so i think it varies, i believe that it takes full two weeks for them to make all their decisions. As someone else on this forum mentioned as well, some people heard in a couple of days, some in a week or so.
Enjoy the interview, i thought it was awesome. And good luck!

Just a perspective from the other side of this process:
My d is a first-year PhD student who just participated as a “host” at her school’s first interview weekend. She was not “officially” a student member of the admissions committee or anything; she just offered to help out and show prospectives around. She was asked afterwards for her impressions and also if anyone stood out as either being a good fit for the program or not good at all. I believe all the current students who participated in the activities for the prospectives were asked this.

Could be a cautionary tale, I suppose.

Also, it seems that her program, at least, is not having to be as selective as they were last year as they will be putting forth almost twice as many offers as they were able to last year due to financial constraints.

Hey…what was the IGP interview like? i am interviewing on feb 25th…is it casual or really formal?

hey hey… do you guys have any idea if harvard bbs includes in biological science in dental medicine…tats the program i applied to through HILS n have no news till now even i emailed them :(

I hope all the attendees at this past weekend’s BBS recruitment enjoyed your time here (the Kong, anybody?); I had a great time meeting a lot of you! If you have any more questions or comments, please feel free to shoot me a message. And for those of you who are planning to come to our next weekend, we are looking forward to your visit.

@frogymiao: BBS is a separate program from dental medicine and the admissions for the two programs are independent.

@regarzy

Regarding WashU: I heard somewhere between 1/2 to 2/3, depending on the program.

Has anyone heard from Yale BBS (interviews were last weekend) or know anything about their post-interview acceptance rate?

They are completely separate.

got into Mount Sinai on Friday! Woo! Great way to start the Valentine’s Day weekend!!!

@wazza10
Was that Northwestern IGP?
When did you hear from them?

Congrats phDhopeful!!

Thanks GCN2!!!

I’m sorry. Is there anyone that has heard back from Johns Hopkins Human Genetics yet?

@ishuku

no word from Yale neuro since booking my flight.

so did anyone get news for phD in Harvard dental medicine yet?? I’m nervous :(

@ molbio
Thanks for your info. I’m interviewing at the MCB program at WashU.
1/2 to 2/3 is actually way lower than I expected. Seems like they have a pretty large acceptance, if they only take half of those interviewed, how many people do they have to invite!

Hey

Any ideas when/if Columbia neuro will be sending out itineraries/interview schedules for 25/26?

Thanks

@ Humangen: I know their first interviews are today but that’s about it.
