yeah. i got an invite from the admin aswell. the program i applied to was pharmacology.

Has anyone heard from MIT, Harvard or Stanford yet on their neuroscience interviews? & know interview dates for harvard, MIT?

thanks and good luck to all, its been a while since I was last in school (working since 2002).

I applied to Columbia’s Neurobiology and Behavior Program (part of the Coordinated Doctoral Programs in Biomedical Sciences). Has anyone heard back from them yet? I recall reading on this thread that some people hadn’t received their application numbers yet… I got mine via email fairly soon after submitting my application. Every time I log in to check my application status, my application is horribly incomplete, even though all my materials were submitted online. It looks like the last time my file was updated was November 24. Anyone else experiencing this? Have they started inviting people for interviews? Should I call them?

@therainman about columbia, i did not apply to the same program as you but i understand what you are saying. mine also says its incomplete eventhough I have already received an invite from them.

lol, hamster09, that is truly bizarre and quite funny! Congrats on the invite! :)

biofkz, what programs did you apply to at those schools? we’re both bioinformatics related people.

RDWRER, UPenn Neuro has sent out the first round of invitations, but if last year is any indication, they will send out at least two more waves in the coming month. Stanford doesn’t typically notify until mid- or late-January. As far as I can tell Duke has not invited anyone, either, although when invitations get sent out may depend on whether you applied to the cognitive neuroscience group or neurobiology. Yale neuro typically invites applicants sometime during the first half of January. I don’t know much about the others – hopefully this will be enough to put your mind at ease.

Are “first round” interviews indicative of the earliness of the receipt of application, or the strength of one’s application?

Strength/fit.

Thank you Momwaitingfornew! I really appreciate your help/time!

Thanks, everyone! Looks like the schools whose deadlines haven’t yet passed (Jan 15th and onwards) are:

UT Health and Science San Antonio
Tufts
Mt. Sinai
Kentucky
U of M Baltimore
VA Tech
Brandeis
U of I - Chicago
U of I - Urbana-Champaign

I’m sure I’m not the only one looking to send in a few last-minute apps so let us know of any others and I’ll continue compiling a list.

Mt. sinai i think has rolling interviews. i have mine this coming weekend. yay NYC!

Applied:
UCSF-Tetrad
UC Berkeley- Biophysics
UCSD-Chem and Biochem
UCLA-ACCESS
UC Irvine-CMB
Johns Hopkins- CMDB
UVA-BMBG

Interviews (so, far):
UCLA, UCSD, UCI, Johns Hopkins

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN UCSF’S INTERVIEW WEEKEND WILL BE? I have three interviews in CA and need to plan how I am going to make this tour with another trip in MD.

i second you!

First Interview to UWisconsin-CMB today!!! Woot!!! So excited :-)

I’ve heard that the Bay Area schools try to schedule their interview weekends back-to-back, so maybe UCSF’s is Feb 24-27?

Applied: UCSF Tetrad, Tufts Sackler, Harvard BBS, BU MCB and Biomedical Neuroscience, Brandeis MCB, Stony Brook MCB, Einstein BMS, University College London (UCL) Neuroscience and Developmental Bio

Still Applying: Bristol University Neuroscience, Cardiff University Integrative Neuroscience, Imperial College London Neuroscience

Interview: UCL neuroscience 1/6!

Still waiting on everyone else.

Talisshort: One of the pluses about U of Ill at Chicago is that you can apply to neuroscience and then apply to as many other programs as you want without paying another fee. I have been meaning to do this. Where are you seeing that you can still apply to Tufts? I thought it was Dec. 15th…

I’ve stalked this page too much to not post either… Thanks for all those who have shared information and advice in this most painful of waiting games. I wish everyone good luck and hope to see some of you soon.
