sorry. the stress is getting to me…

Hang in there, everyone!

@selpunca:
I am planning to visit JHU on February 10-13th. What about you??

hi there everybody,

i was wondering if anybody has heard from JHU’s biochemistry, cell and molecular biology graduate program?

thanks!

MIT Invite Today. OMG SOOOO EXCITED! CONGRATS TO EVERYBODY!

@kvscience

I know a guy who got an interview invite for UPenn Immunology. Since he got it ages ago and I didn’t, I’ve surmised that I’m out of the game for UPenn and UCSF. Cheers.

congrats lifesciences! i’ve been waiting for MIT for so long… i didn’t hear anything tonight. yikes! did you apply to biology program?

I think I’m stressed out- I find myself refreshing my email inbox >10X a day.

Anyways, I’m a little worried about the interviews. I have three scheduled so far, and they all start on/expect you to arrive on Thursdays. I have a lab course on Thursdays and my prof is not very understanding about this situation. I guess my marks will have to take a bit of beating…

hi all! for those who received invites from einstein, any for micro/immuno progs? and I’m not really sure if they review apps on a rolling basis as I’ve gotten conflicting answers when I’ve called. thanks!

What kind of professor would not be understanding, it’s not like you really have a choice? Sounds like they need a reality and ego check. Although it would bother me too, I would try not to sweat it one bit. I’m sure you realize this anyway, but one lab course your last semester is of little importance when related to your future grad school choice. Personally, if they were really a pain about it, I would politely remind them of that.

i’m just a bit confused right now. no interview from harvard systems bio or princeton qcb. i dunno what exactly is wrong with my app either. anyway, i’m expecting rejections from the rest and even if i do get into some of them (e.g. caltech, rockefeller, berkeley biophysics) i doubt i would even attend. ugh. time to find a plan b…

OMG this forum is making me stressed. No word from MIT Biology, so I guess I missed the boat on that, and no word from Stanford (turns out I applied to Neuro, but forgot, bahah), so we’ll see. Oh well.

Does anyone know if UCSF Tetrad sent out any invitations today? I’m relatively sure they weren’t finished yesterday, but I didn’t hear anything today. (There’s nothing from today on Grad Cafe either.)

Looking at last year, UCSF Tetrad’s phone calls did go out over two days, possibly more. Plus it was a week later than this year. No reason to call the game there yet.

Today was a very discouraging day…hopefully next week brings better news. The waiting is driving me crazy though.

To the Stanford neuro people:

I got the call today… 30 out of more than 400 applicants were/are being invited.

@telojennie: I’m coming for the Jan 20-23 interview

Good luck guys. It’s still the first week of Jan. There should be more coming up next week!

Has anyone heard from ucsd neuro?

Side note… Is the consensus that Penn neuro is done or could there be more waves as mentioned by MWFN?

^labgod

I did apply to MIT Biology. Very psyched. Best of luck to you!
