harvard bbs acceptance

Does anyone know if Harvard Systems Biology has sent out all the invites? I hope not…

@biophdplease

would you mind telling me what you thought of the interview weekend as well? i am interviewing there as well, heard they let you know pretty quickly…

Hi MolSysBio, do you know if Stanford send out invitations in waves similar to Harvard? Would that place some folks in a disadvantage since maybe the earlier or later applications read will be favored more? I am curious since it seems that each program has a set number of invitations.

Other than dev bio, genetics, neuro, biology, biochem, chem/systems bio, informatics, and immunology…has anyone heard from other of the programs in Stanford Biosciences? I’ve sent an email to various programs but did not hear back from any of the staff.

I created an account just to share in the excitement…

Accepted: Harvard BBS, Rockefeller
Interview: MIT Biology, Weill Cornell

I could post stats if anyone cares, but in the mean time I’ll contemplate how to celebrate. Those were my only four schools!

heard back from stanford biosciences- cancer bio today. came in the mail

no idea about stanford biosciences. but i think if you don’t get into your primary program then you don’t get into your second / third choices either.

I doubt it. What would be the point, then, of listing a second and third choice?

It seems to me that the committee may either choose to file your application in the program it feels best suits you or, if your application fits equally well in multiple subfields, then each subfield can choose whether or not to offer you an interview, with the applicant getting to choose which one to attend if multiple offers are made.

cal2010,

do you mean snail mail? what was the result, if you don’t mind me asking…thanks.

krypton: idk, that’s what some lady told me from stanford biomedical informatics.

@PipetteKid

could u post your stats?
