2010 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

Has anyone applied to Loyola’s (in Chicago) micro and immunology program? And does anyone know anything about it? I was invited to interview but can’t make it until the March 19th interview. Do you think it’s a disadvantage to interview so late?

Hello!
Is anybody attending the 4-5th February interview session at the Sackler institute @ NYU?

I’m really nervous about it…

miRNAgirl:
I attended the first interview session at NYU sackler. Good luck!

for those who have interviewed at aecom would you mind sharing your interview experience, and what you thought of the faculty, students, facilities, general vibe? i would really appreciate it. You can PM me if you want.
also do they let you know pretty soon and what percentage do they accept post-interview? thank you so much!

Is anyone else interviewing at BCM MCB Feb 4-7?

@cytometry – I will be going to Baylor MCB on Feb 4! I will see you there!

@biomed2010 – congrats on Hopkins CMM! I applied to the same program, but its funny you still dont get an invite from Baylor and I still dont get an invite from Hopkins! Oh well…I already have an acceptance and I am pretty sure thats where I wanna go…so I am not too worried! Are you from Maryland btw…just thought since you are applying to some of the same schools I am applying to including Hopkins and U-M Baltimore!

Applied: UM-Baltimore, Baylor, UPenn, UCSF, Stanford, UVA, Hopkins, Michigan PIBS, Northwestern IGP, Weill Cornell, UT Southwestern, UCSD

@yaygrady I sent you a pm

hey everybody!

is anyone coming for the univ of rochester medical center interview weekend Feb 4-7?
any idea abt the % of acceptances aftr interview?

Has anyone heard from Weill IMP or BCMB programs? Have they stopped sending out interview invites?

@Lelouch: I took almost 5 years off after college. I wasn’t really committed to any particular career and my grades just weren’t stellar due to some personal circumstances. Once I got myself straightened out I looked for technician jobs where I could get serious independent research experience and have been a tech for 2 years now. My app was complete Jan 11. I know they just started making calls today and I was told by a second year they plan to make offers in waves until they hit their target of 17 for the first year class . . .so it can still happen!

@ yaygrady: I sent you a pm

@ cytometry: any word on your applications yet?

@kinase87
I called and the lady checked the status of my application :frowning: not good :wink: I did not make to their list. Maybe if you call them, they might have an answer for you…

Has anyone applied to MSU, VA tech or Un. Illinois at Chicago?
If so, have you guys heard anything?

Does anybody know how many interview weekends there are for Vanderbilt University Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in BBS? I know there’s one on this weekend…

Cornell BCMB only has one interview weekend: Feb 17-18. So time might be running out.

As for Vanderbilt, they don’t have finite interview weekends exactly. Every weekend or so is an interview weekend. Kind of odd I know, but I think they keep interviewing well into March.

Anyone interviewing at Hopkins BCMB this weekend?

kinase87: I just got my interview invite for Cornell BCMB today, and I think that the 17-18 of Feb is there only interview weekend…

krishh008: yes I did get the invite for second informal weekend which I will definitely be at… will I be meeting you then…

GCN2: were you at the interview last week??

@biomed2010 I have heard from 2 of 10 thus far!

Congrats on your interviews cytometry. I guess all we had to do was wait right? Which programs did you get interviews with if you don’t mind me asking?

Congrats, you guys!

I want to fast forward my life to April. May I never have to go through this again.

Y’all have kept me sane. Thank the good Lord for CC.
