2010 SAT dates? URGENT!

I’m a junior, and I’m moving my SAT Subject test dates for June. The thing is, that doesn’t leave me with enough room for retaking the SAT this year.

Is it best to retake the SAT as a senior or junior, or do colleges not care?

I can’t sign up for a SAT date later than June, will the collegeboard website have later dates up for next year later on? Like when? (October?)

Oct, Nov, Dec.

Most people retake in Oct, and some in Nov.

THE CB? They’re idiots and rip off artists. When I attempted to change S’s JUNE SAT to the fall the lrep refused because “They dont know the date yet …” right… It will probably be one of the first few days of Oct for the general SAT test. She said they won’t announce the date until the middle of MAY…

… OC—That way they can make more money off of late fees etc etc…forced cancellations etc…

Don’t test in Oct, Nov and Dec and you’ll enjoy a VERY generous curve.

Are you serious? I wouldn’t think that that’s true - it depends on the pool of students taking the test on that particular date.

I have a question too…I’m still deciding if I should take SAT IIs in the June or wait till the Fall. I was planning on taking Chem, Math II and US History. (Maybe English)
The thing is, I’m a Junior and I’m taking 4 APs…so May is kinda hectic for me. Should I just take it easy for June? Or take a couple of SAT IIs? I was planning on studying during the summer…

as long as you take your exams before the 2nd semester of your senior year, it is fine. If you really need extra time, there are exceptions with a lot of colleges where you can first apply to the school, and then submit your scores afterwards. However, to be able to do that, you must contact the admissions officer at the school. Otherwise is not too many difference between taking the exam when you are a senior or when you are a junior. Of course if you do exceptionally well when you are a junior, this can be beneficial

Okay, I got a late start due to family issues… im a junior

Ive not yet taken the SAT, i am however registed to take it in June, also I have to take 3 sat subject tests (i was thinking Math II, US History, English or Biology) and im planning on taking those in October

Now if I need to retake any of that, will it be too late by the next testing dates?

This is false. Even if a certain test date(s) had a better curve, it wouldn’t stay “secret” for long and everyone would sign up for that date, eliminating any small benefit the curve might’ve had.

To all who are debating between SAT and SAT 2 for June, take SAT 2 for June. You’ll forget all your SAT 2 subject material over the summer so just get it done now. Plus, you’ll have the whole summer for the SAT which IMO requires more long term prep.

Quick question…Where do you get those TEST dates? When I spoke with the rep she said they did not have the Fall dates publicized yet ,and I did not see them on the CB site. Are those new?

I got it from their website

By taking the Subjects tests the same time that you are studying for AP exams allows your studies in school to become also your study time for the Subjects tests just as long as you select the tests to be the same topic as your AP exams. Work smarter, not harder.
