@Matt I only paid in 9th grade because it was the novelty of the whole AP thing but then it wore off. This time, these scores will determine which unis I apply to so the sooner I know, the sooner I can start working on applications. Plus, I took a lot more than I ever have in one year.

@Tiffany Ohh I see. Sounds smart. Well, I already know where I’m applying ED so that’s taken care of for me
Where’re you thinking?

@Matt It’s definitely worth the 8 bucks in this case for me. It must be so nice to know!
Where are you applying to, if you don’t mind my asking? I am, as my username suggests, into Classics and want to go into archaeology/history programs, of which there are few in the U.S. The best programs I know of are either at NYU, Brown, or Duke and everything else is abroad so I’m working with limited options! Depending on my scores, I can qualify for international unis that have that type of program.

@Tiffany My dream school right now is Reed College :3 Small school, outskirts of Portland, OR, very academically-driven, very quirky student body. As MY name suggests, I’m really into French and languages, also linguistics. I’m definitely majoring in the first, and a double major with the linguistics would be really difficult.
Archaeology? Wow! A graduated senior I know is going into archaeology, I think (she is if I read her Facebook status today correctly…).
Hey studying abroad could be fun; it’s certainly cheaper! For awhile I considered studying in France, but the quality of life there for students sucks since it’s all public and overcrowded. The private unis are literally impossible to get into for foreigners, let alone natives.

@Matt That’s so exciting! Portland is a really nice area and from what I’ve heard, Reed is great. I’ve always been the student of two worlds with languages. On the one hand, I’m a total Latin person (taking AP this year) but on the other hand, I’m into French, too! Finished level 6 this year but, unfortunately, the French program at my school was discontinued so now it’s Latin all the way! Linguistics sounds interesting, my brother teaches introduction to Linguistics at Georgetown in D.C. and is always talking about it. A double-major in that could be really awesome! Yup. I’ve always been fascinated by that sort of thing and being into Latin certainly helps as ancient languages come with the territory. I agree, it’s definitely cheaper, but as you said, the qualifications are much more difficult for U.S. students applying. That’s why so much is riding on these scores for me cause it’ll determine whether or not I even have a chance. Apart from that, the good U.S. schools that have this program are difficult to get into so we’ll see.

lol @ whoever put chuck norris n edna 4ever in the tags!

@Tiffany It’s always nice to meet fellow language geeks
especially Frenchies. Yeah French was nearly discontinued at my school, but it managed to keep its place in the high school (the middle school got rid of it -.-). But, if I get elected President of the NFHS, I wanna institute a program to reintroduce French in the middle school in the form of a club or something of the sort. You couldn’t force me near Latin, however. Something about it turns me off…But my dad and I wanna start Greek together xD Oh, your brother’s a teacher? Coincidentally, I want to be a teacher too
Maybe professor, not sure yet. Anyway, it’s not difficult to get into a French public uni; all you need is a good score on the bac or equivalent exam, and Americans need to pass some language proficiency tests (bah!).
Don’t worry; you seem like a smart girl
I’m sure you got the right scores.

this is the worst wait ever for graduated seniors/incoming college freshmen. we need to get out classes/schedules ready! and i need to sign up for summer classes!

yeah jackdaniels I agree… that’s why i’m paying the $8, cuz I have registration soon and want my scores beforehand

will the scores maybe be up at 12:00am today or should i not stay up?

Maybe, I’m still betting on 6 a.m. Eastern though.

A tag is Edna on 4chan
Oh my god, imagine the /b/ posts…

i’ve already registered for the Fall but I was going to take Cal II during the summer, except I can’t take it until I know I got Cal I credit. And I’m SO worried classes will fill up!

At least you have the possibility of taking it over the summer. My local JC only offers Calc I in the summer :p

@Matt sorry for the delay. I’m at a hotel so internet is on and off. I’m currently on my phone. Lucky! I miss French but Latin, deep down, has always been number one for me. I’ll have to do Greek in college so that’s cool that you might start it! That is a coincidence! Yeah, he loves linguistics. We are definitely a humanities-oriented family over here so who knows what my AP stat score will be. Maybe you could spend a semester abroad in France or another francophone country? My French teacher studied in Belgium and had a blast! Ah, thank you, I wish I could have more faith in that myself! Let me try and fix this connection and I’ll be back.

@Matt: You mean if there was like, Rule 34 on her? That’s just sickening…

And it’s not like CCers would be caught actually posting on there

Woah woah woah! I don’t want to be thinking about a rule 34 Edna anymore than you.

Who says I was? lol

Ok, a quick restart and I am back on the internet! Have I missed much?
