Rank: 1% of district (school refuses to send rank amongst classmates)
SATs: taken sophomore year, 770 M, 740 CR, 750 W
SAT IIs (I know they don't count, but they were there when I sent them, so adcoms did see them): 800 Lit, 770 Math IIc</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Model UN, Hospice Teen Council, and Science National Honor Society president. Academic team, Cancer support group, Juniorettes.. I forgot what else I put. </p>

<p>Hooks: 2 summer science research programs, awards at regional and state science fairs, solid essays, really stellar rec.</p>

<p>I was under the impression that Georgia Tech didn't accept reccomendations. Could someone please elaborate on this?</p>

<p>Our son rec'd his acceptance packet today, tho we haven't opened it because he's not home yet. OOS (Michigan); all boys parochial high school; ACT 30; SAT 2130; 3.8-3.9 uw GPA; AP: 4 Physics (took as a junior); 5 Chem; 5 US Gov; taking three AP classes this year. Lots of EC including varsity tennis, pres of Robotics, etc. </p>

<p>Also accepted to Michigan engineering. Applied to Ga Tech about three weeks ago. We visited the Tech campus and loved it. He's not too keen about the male/female ratio, esp. after attending all boys high school. Will prob go to UM because cheaper/friends going there/closer to home.</p>
