2011 Admission Decisions?

have been accepted to both UCM and UCR, but nothing in the mail regarding financial aid yet.

Checked last weekend, got admitted for bio major :)!! Feels good to have a safety net

Admitted a couple of weeks ago. I’m still waiting on UCB, UCI, and UCD. Rejected by UCSD.

Anyone considering going to UC Merced?

I am for this fall 2011 and majoring in Biological Science.

What made you decide to go to UC Merced? What other UCs are did you get in? Are you gonna stay in the dorms or apartment?

UCM released their acceptances on their portal a LONG time ago. Your estimated financial aid package should be there to under the tab myfinancialaid. I got my acceptance letter from UCM around a month after they released their acceptance information on their portal. Hope this helped.

Hi studentEd, I got accepted from Cal, Davis, Santa Barbara but rejected in LA. I thought of Cal since I live near there (I’m from Lafayette) but changed my mind after having the opportunity to sit in various classes. 3 of my cousins are current students there & I was given the chance to see them first hand. Although the classes were impressive; however, I wasn’t impressed with the large classes. I am sure that large classes exist in UCM but I think from what I’ve read & heard, there are more contact between professors to students, as opposed to TAs only. I also attended the tour in Cal & yet, somehow, I can’t see myself attending there. Cal is without a doubt one of the best universities; however, I am more concern of myself as a student re. survival and sanity. I feel that I’ll learn better in a smaller campus with hands-on and low teacher-student ratio. As for housing, I’ll definitely stay in a dorm, at least for the first 2 years since it is guaranteed.

Well I guess people turning down Cal and other top tier UC schools isn’t a myth. I’m waitlisted in UCSC, and I appealed at UC Davis, accepted in Sac State, SF State. Aren’t you bothered by the negativity of people towards UC Merced? When people ask me what college I’m going then I say I consider UC Merced… they said I’m better off going to SF State/Sac State or wait for UCSC. In my mind I’m set on going to UC Merced for some reason like it’s programed. I was reading the faculty and programs in UC Merced and they’re excellent. Most of the faculties are alumnus of Stanford, MIT, Cal Tech, Upenn(& other ivy leagues, Cal, UCLA, UC San Diego, & etc… So I was like how can Merced have such a bad reputation with an awesome faculty. People just look into the cover of the book and not its contents. Oh btw I’m going to UC Merced tomorrow to see the campus and have a tour.

UC Merced isn’t accredited though…

But it’s a candidate for it though. 7 out of 10 UC are accredited. So I guess UCM is one of 3 not accredited schools in the UC system

@ bosslady360, UC Merced went through the accreditation process and will be accredited in July of this year.

UC Merced been accredited already and they got seven years.

All ten UC campuses are accredited. UC Merced was accredited 6/24/2011.

Where did 7 out of 10 come from?
