2011 Application

Please anyone guide me through the application for entry into fall 2011. What are the steps I should take. I plan on doing the SUNY app and I filled out the app. Now its asking to pay the app fees. After that what are the next steps to do. I know its early but I just want to get everything done before November starts. I also plan to take the sat in Oct 2010 so if I send in everything else early and then send in the latest sat score. I took the March 2010 sat but I want to take the oct sat so can I send in the march sat but then when I get the oct sat can I send that later. What about the teacher recommendations, essays and extracurriculars, how do I send those? Sorry for all questions but please help me.

THANKS!!!
UR INPUT WOULD DEEPLY BE APRECIATED!!!

bump…

Stony brook will send you an SOLAR system account after it processed the suny app, on there you will fill out the rest of the info such as essays and extracurricular.
The recommendations have this form -> http://www.stonybrook.edu/ugadmissions/forms/sbletterrec.pdf</a> Has mailing directions on it.

I do think you are getting a bit much of a head start :P

haha yea ur right but hey thanks for ur input!

All the details are here: [Stony Brook University Undergraduate Admissions](First Year)

Just start getting all the pieces in. Transcripts, test scores, etc. We’re NOT using the SOLAR supplement that Delfino is referring to; we’re using the SUNY Supplement, which is on the suny.edu application. (Log back into their site and complete it there.)

Chris

also how would I show my extracurriculars like volunteering because I was planning on getting recommendation letters from them to show proof is that the way I should show Stony Brook?

You can mail those in with a resume showing your involvement.

All of that is on the SUNY Supplement, actually.

I have a question about the app essay. Would it be smart to write about something religious because I wanted to write about about my experience as an altarboy and how it had an impact on me. That means could I possibly quote from the bible. I dont want admission counselors to think all I wrote was about my religion so would that be a good topic?

Fine by us. Write about what’s important to you.

Chris

Thank you Chris!

I have a question !!

Is Nursing still a major at Stony Brook? Because I’m doing the SUNY app && i’m trying to choose a curriculum but Nursing isnt listed?

Help Please !

Yes. The School of Nursing is under the Health Sciences program though. However, you need to have completed 57 credits before applying for admission into the program.
