2011 Cal Transfer Applicants: The Decisions-Only Thread

I didn’t think I get in but I got accepted for Spring!

Major: Philosophy
GPA: 3.63
Major Prerequisites: Complete
IGETC: Yes
ECs/Work Experience: alright
Personal Statements: I thought it was OK but I think it’s the thing that got me in since everyone else’s gpa is higher… and Berkeley seems to accept by Colleges.

Sadly got in as a Spring admit not Fall. But still cool, was my top choice and thought I would get rejected.

Major: Linguistics

GPA: 4.00

Major Prerequisites: Complete (there are no specific pre-reqs for linguistics, but I took/am taking many courses related to linguistics: social sciences, languages, etc.)

IGETC: Yes

ECs/Work Experience: Few: tutoring here and there, babysitting, Dean’s List, an activity I participated in actively in high school. (I thought my lack of ECs would keep me out of Berkeley!)

Personal Statements: I only let people on College Confidential read them after I submitted my application. They all agreed that they were really good, not outstanding, but really good ;).

Didn’t apply for financial aid = no email

Decision: ACCEPTED. I’m innnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!
Also accepted at: UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCD and UCSC
Rejected: NOWHERE

@deanzatransfer

Sorry, I know this thread isn’t for discussion, but I am so freaking jealous of you. I’m a linguistics major as well, and our apps look near identical, except my overall GPA is 3.9 (got a B in chemistry). But even our ECs are similar, with the tutoring, babysitting, Dean’s List. I also taught French classes to elementary school students.
