2011 January SAT: Writing Section

yeah ■■■
i overanalyzed it.

Yeah, I know. I can’t get off this websiiiite! D:
I completely laughed out loud as soon as I saw that question. I hope my proctor was okay with it.

^I too thought ‘increasing’ sound better… debated between “increased” or ne

@littlepenguin, i totally understand.
however, it seems like the activity is dying down.
it was crazy around 4 PM, hahah.

Well I’m getting off for the night (finally). Good night, everyone! :P

also, thank you for explaining my smart mistake, you guys!
you have to admit it was smart - isn’t that what “overanalyzing” is?
anywho good luck with your scores!

The funniest question for me was:
A store is selling 2 normal radios and 4 defective radios

hahaha
i loved that question

^^
Yes; your method assumed that CB tests for geographical skills, which it doesn’t.

Oh, wait!
There was one question in section 10 about a son and his father trying to find the graves of their ancestors? I can only remember getting E.

Did anyone get consecutive no errors?

And did anyone remember the identifying sentence error question that ended with damaging(this word was underlined)? I put no error for this

does anyone also remember the question with “burned smell” ?

yes. i got 2 no errors in a row also, that is reassuring!

magic12 r u good at writing, can i be confident that we are both correct. Please say yes, lol

I don’t want to emotionally dishevel anybody, but I don’t remember getting 2 NE in a row. I usually miss 3 at most, but I think a -1 on this test is pretty conservative for me.

it was no error for chunnel.
visible as in - most recognizable. it’s figurative sense.

Does anyone remember the paragraph question on the bicycles

Furthermore…cycling required women to wear a new mode of fashion ( i have no idea )
or
Even more surprising, women needed less constricting clothing or something

former: cycling required women to adopt a new mode of fashion

Do you guys remember any faulty-comparison errors in the identifying errors section? I don’t remember any on the test, either, except the very last question of the test (the one about courses or something).

Okay so now that’s two questions you guys have brought up form section 10 that I did not have. (ancestors + courses)…???

For the one about women wearing less constrictive clothing, did you leave the sentence as unchanged?
