<p>Eligible Schools: Alabama A&M University, Alcorn State University, Delaware State University, Florida A & M University, Fort Valley State University, Kentucky State University, Langston University, Lincoln University-Jefferson City, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Prairie View A & M University, South Carolina State University, Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, Tennessee State University, Tuskegee University, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Virginia State University, West Virginia University </p>

<p>The Monsanto Fund/UNCF 1890's Scholars Program will provide scholarships to ten African American college sophomores or juniors majoring in Agronomy, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Entomology, Engineering (mechanical, electrical, seeds process and chemical) Computer Science (application development, global ERP development, infrastructure services, research oriented information technology), Plant Breeding, Automation Technology, or Ag-related field to attend any of the eighteen 1890 institutions. </p>

<p>Preference will be given to students who are residents of farm communities which is defined as: Farming community is any area other than (1) a city or town that has a population of greater than 50,000 inhabitants, and (2) the urbanized areas contiguous and adjacent to such a city or town. Additionally, at least 30% of the economic development comes from farming. </p>
