is today the last day for loas to be sent out? does the entire file have to be complete for loa consideration?

I would hope yesterday was not the last day for sending out LOA's, I thought I rememebred hearing of people last year getting LOA's all the way up until the end of november.

Also, those of you who have already received LOA's how much of your application had you completed when you received it? Thanks

I don't believe there is an official "last day" when LOA's are sent out. It has more to do with "how many" they have decided to issue and when they hit that mark. As far as how much of the app has been completed before an LOA is sent that will vary by candidate. Some LOA's are issued with only a pre-candidate questionnaire and a 6 semester transcript submitted, others have reported getting LOA's after the full app has been sent in. As I said earlier, it depends on the candidate.

Good Luck!

I applied to USMA about two weeks ago; I hate to say that it was an afterthought, because that sounds horribly snotty, but I've always wanted to go to the Air Force Academy and West Point just didn't enter my mind until a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, I got an LOA about a week after I submitted my preliminary questionairre. They had not received anything for my actual application, so before they would send the LOA, I had to have my counselor fax them a copy of my transcript and SAT scores. I will definitely accept the appointment to USMA if something goes wrong and I don't get offered an appointment to USAFA. What an honor! Even though West Point is not my first choice, I am still humbled to think that I could potentially go to such a respected institution with so many ties to our country's history. And who knows? It's a very weighty decision and I have a lot to think and pray about.
