2011 Official UCLA Appeal Thread

what was your basis for appeal?

I never mentioned that my dad didn’t have health insurance when he had a heart attack and we faced financial problems. You cant’ lie though, they will ask for documentation.

Appeal letter deadline is today, anyone willing to read my letter and proof read/give feedback before I send it?

sorry to hear that SATnoob, and sorry ayymeer for seeing this too late

Eh it’s all good (: anyone hear back yet?

People who submitted appeals the first week they were able to should be hearing back from The University any day now this week.

^
are you sure?

i looked at previous years threads about UCLA appeals, and some people who submitted their appeals early did not hear until may, hopefully it is earlier this year.

I’m just going by what UCLA said online. They said usually most of the time within 3 weeks. It is near the end of 3 weeks from the end of the week that the appeal form was available so I’m just making an assumption based on their word.

I sent mine in april 24th. Still No response…

march 24th***

=( I sent mine March 28th so if u didnt get urs yet than I’ll probably have to wait alot longer xD

I appealed March 31st and I have the message that says 3 weeks. I appealed to Berkeley and I am waiting on Michigan. If I don’t get into Michigan, I better hope I get into UCLA or Berkeley. Dang it.

Just got an email from UCLA housing today and was very very confused so I checked my appeal status and sure enough there was a big WELCOME TO UCLA statement. Good luck everyone!

What did you guys include in your appeal? I am appealing my transfer rejection but is a letter enough? Also, did you guys double space? I didn’t because I wanted to include all the information I felt was relevant in two pages. Thanks!

Accepted to HSSEAS last week

Sent from my Liberty using CC App

My appeal was only 1.2 pages single spaced. Don’t try to make it too long to bore them. Also I had a decent change in my app because I am a HS applicant and I retook the SAT in January (1 month late to submit for them to see it) and scored 120 points better than my first time through. Got a 2200. That might have helped. Also, I made sure to say that I have done everything in my power to be accepted into the bruin community and how UCLA has always been my number one priority in education. You need to show them that you are committed to LA.

Were you successful in your appeal? Also, did you only send in a letter? No supporting documents or anything else? Thanks!

If you read a couple posts up or look at my location, it should tell you your answer (not trying to sound like a dick, just saying).

And yes, I just sent in ~1000 word letter on the appeal website and nothing else. No documents or anything. Except for my score report of the new SAT from collegeboard of course.

My bad. Completely overlooked that. Thanks for your help!
