2011 Term Changes Decision Thread

i think it’s pretty safe to assume that the majority are still waiting to hear about term changes. However, i have a class mate from school who was notified last monday of his change (from Summer to Fall), so I guess some changes are being sent out (although its probably going along the lines of what a previous poster said about fall to summer and summer to fall being sent out first and then spring to S/F). A lot of people heard on April 29th last year, so I guess its going to be that time again this year!

I got mine a while ago. Term changed from fall to summer

If it’s the same day as last year, some of us Spring peeps will find out tomorrow, the 29th. The only thing I noticed was the 29th was on a thursday last year. Anyone find out today? AHHHH SO NERVOUS.

I can’t believe it. I turned mine in they day I found out my decision and I didn’t get the term change. I wrote really good reasons too in a sort of essay … Wow. I’m stunned. I said 1st choice Summer and 2nd choice fall. I guess see you all in Spring. :(

I just called and asked questions. They told me they rejected every single term change from Spring applicants this year. Weird… I know… Space limitations?

Last year, my niece was accepted for Summer B (applied for Fall) and due to a summer vacation overseas was not able to start Summer B. She requested Spring and that was easily granted. I guess there were not any Summer or Fall acceptees wanting to go in Spring instead.

If you really want to go to UF, just go get an apartment and do Fall at Sante Fe and the transition to UF in Spring will be easy.

Good luck!

@Metalmeatwad: Ditto here! Same exact circumstances as yours. UF has become increasingly popular due to its fine reputation and very low tuition. This is especially true as more and more middle class families start to question the value of spending over $50K a year for a name brand private university degree. The net result is more applications AND a decrease in the number of freshman close spots due to crappy funding by the State of Florida. Not surprisingly, more students are saying “yes” and actually enrolling.

disappointed that they didn’t accept anyoneee this yr, as i knew quite a few that they did last year. Oh well! Time to go be a Seminole now, where I’m actually wanted haha!

No! Be a Gator. It’s still 4 years of your life!

I got denied my term change request from Summer to Fall too. This sucks! …such a turnoff.

Denied a term change from spring to either fall/summer :frowning: can’t believe they didn’t change anyone’s!!

Your still going to UF, right?

Does anyone know if it’s too late to request a change from Fall to Summer? Yeah, I’m really late to the game on this one…

Metalmeatwad- no, I’m going to UM instead.

I requested from Fall to Summer and got accepted into Summer.

I requested a change from spring to fall the day after I was accepted and even wrote it in a nice paragraph form. I was sososo disappointed when I got the email saying that my request was denied. I feel absolutely awful about this because I won’t be able to experience all that comes with the first semester of college along with most of the other freshmen :(
