I havent seen this one anywhere around so Im interested on when they are releasing their admittance. I doubt im going here because it is my 4th back up and I have already gotten into UCSC and Davis and waiting for UCLA and Merced. So who's planning on going here and are there any transfers that actually went to htis school?

UC Merced already send their acceptance like the first week of march. Weird that you haven’t heard a response yet.

heard a response last month.

and there was a thread about the merced decisions.

15 minutes from yosemite.

lol.

but i would go to merced if it had a really good research program and if i were to be one of those people who needs to live outdoors in order to feel replenished.

but no thanks merced, ill skip.

That sucks, I havent gotten anything yet. Ill take a look!

I guess their administration is mostly former DMV employees or something? Post office workers? Woot!

Merced isn’t even close to 15 minutes from Yosemite. More like 1.5-2 hours from Yosemite.

I haven’t heard from Merced either, eablinksum, and I did apply directly. There is no evidence anywhere that Merced has released transfer admission decisions. Folks must be remembering a thread about freshman decisions or possibly the referral program.

I’ve been watching my.ucmerced for news on financial aid or decisions and nothing has come yet. I’ve also called the UCM admissions office several times in the last week; they are not answering their phones. This probably means they’re working balls-to-the-wall to get decisions out. I’m surprised it’s taking them this long; could be due to the systemwide budget cuts, or increased workload from taking people out of the referral pool.

I’m waiting to SIR at Davis until I see what kind of aid Merced offers, just in case. I think Merced’s EnvE program could be a very good fit for me, but it would be much easier for my wife to find work in Sacramento/Davis. That’s really my biggest concern.

^

i got my acceptance early march. and no. there was an UCM transfer thread created last month. since not too many ppl want to go to that college, its probably pushed into the back somewhere.

I was accepted by UC Merced back in March. It was the first university I heard back from. (Transfer Student)

I got my response a long time ago. I’m not planning on going there, though.

I couldn’t find any UCM transfer thread with the search function, going back into February. Anyone got a link?

I didn’t apply to Merced but up until a few days ago I hadn’t even gotten my UCR admission yet so I emailed an admissions counselor asking what may be taking so long and they accepted me within a few hours.

I don’t know what UCM admissions are like time-wise but you might as well just send them a message and ask since it seems like a lot of their admissions went out in March. Especially if you’d like to go there because it could work in your favor to seem interested in checking up on your application :)

Meh. If they haven’t even bothered to admit me by now I can’t imagine they’re planning to offer me enough aid to make it worth turning UCD down.

That’s true. Though the same day I did end up getting 18k from UCR all in grants (I think it only costs about 12k for tuition etc). They’re probably going to be pretty similar in financial aid and you should definitely go to the better school (Davis)… at least that’s what I would do.

lol at the “emailed and then they accepted me within a few hours” bit.

I still havent been accepted, Ill call tomorrow and see if I can get accepted in a matter of hours lol

that’s how you do it lol

yaarp lol, i spoke with a Merced rep visiting my CC and she offered to take a peek at my app. I got accepted the next day, before i got to email her haha.

^ what CC do you go to!?

Finally managed to get someone on the phone in the admissions office. He asked for my information and said they just haven’t gotten to my application yet. No idea why. He also said they’re “hoping” to have all the decisions done by April 30… which makes it sound as though they’re incredibly understaffed. Not a great selling point.

@eablinksum: Any information on your end?

My status changed on Sunday to accepted and the mail arrived yesterday.

On the ‘MyUCMerced Portal’, when you click on the ‘MyFinancialAid’ link, is anyone else who was accepted getting an error message that says, “This page is not enabled for current user role(s).” If this is happening to everyone, how do you find out your aid?
