2011 UC Transfer Admission Decisions

I think that UCLA and Cal both use holistic processes but Cal does more so. I was admitted to both schools with a well below average GPA. Having TAP at Cal probably pushed me over the edge, but I am a perfect sentiment to you don’t need a perfect GPA to get into amazing schools!

I feel like there was never an overall admissions rejections thread where we say all the schools instead of just specifics… Nick?

ella89- how do get TAP certification for Cal? Is it the same as TAP for UCLA?

No, TAP at Cal is for low-income, first-gens,(minorities… shhhh), who have demonstrated an ability to overcome hardships basically. Its only at 9 schools in CA, but that doesnt mean much since it’s not at my school, and I’m still in the program.

Oh yea, my friend has a 3.2 GPA for latin american studes and got into Cal by being in their TAP program.

He also got into UCLA with their TAP program as well. He was a first generation college student.

@Pinoiako916 I mentioned that I took Anthro 103 at West LA and how it’s not articulated, but previous UCLA transfers have petitioned for it to cover the Anthro 33 pre-req @ UCLA.

=)

Yeah, Cal TAP is awesome. I didn’t complete the honors classes for UCLA. I want to submit my SIR but im waiting for my spring semester schedule changes to hopefully be approved.

ella89- i should have told my other friend about Cal TAP program. She tried applying as an anthro major with a 3.02 gpa to Berkeley.

She got accepted to UC Davis, UCSC but got denied by UCLA and Berkeley.

For those of you who got accepted into any UC school, did you receive a letter confirming their decision? Did your letter come before or after the e-mail response?

I STILL haven’t heard anything from UC Irvine.

Hey, ella, I am curious how were you in CAL Tap if it’s not offered at occ?
