2011 UCLA Transfers: The Central Thread for Discussion and Decisions

Okay so I made an account as a New Student since I have the UCLA ID as well

I can’t see my Financial aid and Doc tracking
Psych
3.03 (To be appealed to 3.4 - probably the reason)
TAP

How depressing ._.

just curious, is there anyone who can see their fin aid summary but not their doc tracking, or their doc tracking doesn’t say completed?

btw, I can see both and I’m a soc major.

I can’t see either one, I think thats not good for me. Well, perhaps Cal will be better, I’ve heard of folks who were denied at UCLA but accepted at Berkeley.

Also, not to burst anybody’s bubble but according to my Honors Counselor the decisions aren’t going to be out until the 29th… so yeah.

-hides from the lynch mob of angry waiting people-

The 29th seems highly unlikely imo…UCLA has never released decisions that late. They were released Wednesday the 21st last year, so most are expecting them to be out Wednesday the 20th.

@redoplease

Major: Math/Econ
GPA: 3.4 (Fall 2010) / 3.33 (Winter 2011) - I was asked for Winter grades for my update for some reason.
ECs: Have had 4 different full-time jobs since graduating high school in 2006.
Pre-Reqs: Was planning to have all articulated courses completed by Spring 2011 but Discrete Structures ended up being full and I couldn’t petition so I updated that I would complete it at UCLA Extension during the summer (I don’t think they’ll take it into consideration though).
Have 80-90 UC transferable units completed.

Been in the CCC system for quite a few years now (sad I know). I was burnt out with high school with AP/Honors classes and didn’t quite know what I wanted to do so I goofed around the first couple years in CC while focusing on my career. After capping out without a degree I realized the importance of finishing school and began taking classes full-time, working towards a major and cutting back to part-time work some semesters (All of this is in personal statement).

this link @nickscheu posed has eased my mind a bit. 90% admit rate for TAP humanities majors of L&S. breaths sigh of relief
http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/tap/pp</a></em>ug_admissions.pdf</p>

But yeah, I can’t see any financial aid info on URSA. FAFSA filed. Patience!

so does all this financial aid URSA madness really mean anything??? i didnt see any financial aid info in URSA. and my stats i feel are pretty good and above average for my major. can someone please tell me what all this financial aid URSA stuff means? if it means anything at all? cuz i know decisions are going to be out in just a few days so maybe were all just getting anxious, haha.

This is making me crazy, I hope it comes out Wednesday since I have to start making plans for whichever area I’ll be moving to (I’ll be off-campus, so I need to start looking at rentals and talking to people). Also, the anticipation is too much; it isn’t the fear of disappointment, its just not knowing, you know?

I think if you can see it it’s a good sign of being admitted. If you can’t though, it doesn’t mean you’re rejected. There were people last year who couldn’t see it and ended up being pending. There were also people where it didn’t show up till the night before. I wouldn’t stress about it too much.

maybe Itachirumon is thinking of Cal?
belkster - why do you think you wont be admitted! not only do you see your fin aid crap but looking at ur ECs and gpa (isnt it right around the average for your major?) i feel like you would be in.
still, what the hell do i know. i think i want to do a stint as an admission evaluator just to find out about the process :P

How do you guys register for URSA without being admitted?

Itachirumon did not apply to cal, redoplease

Kcirtap: You just need your UCLA student ID. When you check your admission status it’s displayed there.

Nevermind… I used the UC application ID and all I see is

No Request
Financial Aid Document Tracking

Is that a bad sign? I submitted my FAFSA a long-ass time ago.

Let me try registering again with my UCLA Student ID… LOL

You already have a UCLA Logon account.

I guess you can use either the UC Application ID or UCLA ID? :|

Document tracking functionality is available ONLY to continuing UCLA students and to admitted students, who have completed their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR).

The Financial Aid Office has not received your financial aid application (FAFSA) for the current academic year. We cannot determine your eligibility for financial aid without this information. To complete the FAFSA or check on the status of a submitted application go to: www.fafsa.ed.gov.

***ff

Darn you collegeconfidentialites making me become impatient and crazed… back to swimming.

Its not a bad sign, it’s just not a good sign.

Nick - can you see yours?

@kcirtap I think you’re looking at the myFAO page. I think what everyone else is referring to is when you click ‘View Financial Aid Award and Summary on URSA’ and ‘View Financial Aid Document Tracking’ you should see your awards summary and document tracking respectively.

@ella89

Nope. Check page 16 of this thread if you want to see what I’m like when I go into meltdown. Deep but reasoned melancholy is probably the best description, :-P. Redoplease saying it would be a “grand injustice” if I was rejected from both UCLA and Cal made me feel a bit better, haha.

After thinking about it a bit more… I figure if any 3.4 polisci majors are accepted, I should be one of them. And I think at least some will. But who knows–deserving, qualified students are rejected every year.

On another note: this thread now has 20 pages and nearly 300 posts. Clearly a thread can be successful and long-lasting without resorting to an unofficial “Official” designation. :D

…clearly your obsessive desire for moderation (without the need for moderators) has come to fruition :D
