^ Since when was Calculus 3 required for econ majors? I thought UCLA only required up to Calculus 2…

hi can somebody chance me? I am applying to ucla as a business economics major. I have 3.83 overall gpa. but i have a 4.0 in the prereqs (I have already completed ALL of them prior to this semester) I did not do tap though, so im guessing that automatically makes my chances very slim. I have already completed 71 uc transferable units, completed igetc, and I am a Phi Kappa Theta memeber. My only B’s were in easy courses such as humanities…

@SevenTen

It is only required for the mathematics/economics major. Although, according to our transfer rep at Sacramento City College, it is a highly recommended course (along with other lower division offerings such as linear algebra and differential equations) if you want to be competitive. That’s not really surprising either; requiring prospective transfers to complete math courses through calculus II is a pretty big hint, IMO, that UCLA wants you to have strong math skills. Furthermore, economics has basically transformed itself into a specialty field of applied mathematics over the last few decades.

@taylorm0192, i am a student at city college as well applying to ucla for psychology. What is your major?

One more week to go OMG!!!

smcguy- one more week? I thought it was two more weeks till ucla decisions?

^^^^^ according to my counselor.

@Pinoiako916 I keep hearing 4/20.

The general consensus is that it is between April 21st and 23rd going from past releases. So it’s around 8 to 10 days!

I live in norcal so rumors on when UCLA will release decisions may. Be different

according to the “ask Ms. Sun” blog, transfer decisions are most likely going to be released april 20th (the 3rd wednesday in april, becuz they were released the 3rd wednesday in april last year, which was april 21). But i guess no one knows for sure yet.
