Does anyone know the chances of the waitlisted applicants being offered admission this year? I understand that the chances differ from year to year, but will the budget cuts and amount of applicants this year greatly reduce the number of invitations? Any insight is appreciated.

I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to say right now because there are still applicants haven’t heard back yet (UW is apparently still making decisions). And even after everyone hears back, UW needs to find out what their yield rate will be… The higher the yield rate, the more likely you won’t be taken off the wait-list…

I was waitlisted as well… Really hoping to hear good things back on this one as UW is my top choice as of right now… And if not I’m gonna wind up somewhere silly like UCSC.

@hey ilikeuw… Oh my dear GOD you posted everywhere in this uw thread. you really go hard on that in a good way man. Just keep doing with that. It will help students a lot
I hope I see you in UW. Cheers

I was waitlisted as well.

I’m a bit confused. How can we wait to see if we got into washington if we have to commit to a university by May 1st. Does that mean we have to throw away all other offers gamble on the waitlist?

^No. If you accept a spot on the waitlist, you put yourself in a position to be accepted between May 15th and August 1st. It’s recommended that you place a deposit down for another college by May 1st and if you get picked off the waitlist and want to attend, all you do is forfeit your deposit to the other school and make one for UW. I was waitlisted as well and will probably commit to Notre Dame unless I get picked.

oh alright thank you!

this needs some revival

Anyone accepted or rejected yet?

Is the start date for coming off the wait list , from what I remember.

I talked to a guy from admissions (i’m not lying so believe me it’s cool), and he didn’t sound like nd was going to be taking very many if any off of the wait-list this year…but he could just be saying that to keep me from getting my hopes up…idk but I wish I could’ve gotten in, I’m going to be going on a full ride to the university of kentucky, but I’d so much rather be a finance student at ND…oh well

Are you talking about Notre dame…? Lol

My Unofficial Transcript loaded!! I’m in!!!

Me too, ctc414!!! :)))))))))

Congrats!! You two. I remembered the first time my UT loaded too, soo freakin awesome! :)

Over the past couple months after being Waitlisted and then denied with my appeal, I almost totally dispensed the idea of going to college, and especially one like UW. It’s nice to feel excited about my future again.

After seeing the legislation that has passed regarding tuition rates, I will not be surprised at all if more waitlisted apps start getting in now.

Congrats ctc414! Glad to see someone in the same position as me make it. Quick question, if I am already admitted to UW Bothell will the college change from UW Bothell to UW Seattle on my unofficial transcript if I’m admitted?

I have a few friends who committed elsewhere, but will re-commit to the UW if they get off the waitlist. Good luck to everyone.
