2011 Waitlist

Did everyone who didn’t get in yet from the Waitlist get the email saying they will let us know after June 1st?

oh well…
on the bright side,
I’ll be spending the next 4-5 years in the best place on earth…
Weekend in San Fran is nice too… Japan town <3 …
really wanted to experience the BPE program… but such is life…

xkatana,

UC Berkeley is a pretty “elite” school in the UC system. Take advantage of its strengths. I love SF. Would live there in a heartbeat if hubby were more of a city person.

While Berkeley is not SF, it is very close and the small town that it is immediately enclosed by is quite nice. I remember the really nice sunny weather as we sat in an outdoor cafe having a memorable gourmet meal in Berkeley. :)

xkatana, UCB is great! Really great liberal culture. I was born and raised in SF and I LOVE my city. Berkeley has a lot of great eats and things to do. People are really intellectual, political, and green. I didn’t apply to Berkeley because it’s not great for my intended career path and because it’s too close to home, but it really is a wonderful school. Congratulations!

I look forward to applying to a school in NYC in four years… or maybe I’ll transfer if I really cannot grow to appreciate the college I will be attending this fall.

@osnap- I believe it is an automated email. If you didn’t get it today, you’ll probably receive it tomorrow. Otherwise, to be safe, you should ask an admissions officer.

Thank you all for your heartfelt sympathies. Good luck to us all! We all will do great things no matter we go, as long as we put our best efforts into whatever it is we do.

youarebeautiful,

That is the right spirit! Wish you well. :)

lol I know San Fran is great, love it there.
But the only thing I dislike about Berkeley, a lot… is the “Really great liberal culture.”
I am conservative to the core, and I really don’t think I’m gana fit in some where that’s probably one of the most liberal place ever.

Lol, why would you even apply to Berkeley as a conservative? No offense

Xkatana, then you probably wouldn’t fit in at NYU either. NYU is super liberal, just like Berkeley is.

Because its a good school with one of the best economics/prebusiness program in the world?
and It’s in California

And NYU might be Liberal, I for sure now Stern is fairly conservative, and Wall Street is anything but Liberal…

xka,

My thought exactly. I was first wondering the same, why NYU? Then realized you are a waitlistee for Stern which is the conservative part of NYU. Hopefully, you have a conservative group with UCB’s pre-business program. :)

So it’s June 1… anyone heard anything from NYU? from Stern?

Anyone heard anything Steinhart? I’m dying to get an answer…

Haha. I gave up on hoping the day they sent out that email saying no more offers till June 1st.

anyone heard after june 1?

For anyone patient enough to wait this long, it is time to contact NYU Admissions. Though I have to say, please do not hold out much hope at this point. NYU likely has enough commitments to fill all freshmen spots in the various schools. But, hey, you never know. GL!

yeeeah im waiting on stern, should i just call them?

tennisfan, yeah please do, and post what they say here after. I called a few weeks ago and they said, “we’ll be contacting the wait-listed applicants in the coming weeks.”

taking too long :(

got an email today… did anyone else get it too? I’m waitlisted for CAS

As we continue to enroll our freshman class at NYU, it is possible space may become available in our Liberal Studies and Global Liberal Studies programs this summer. We are writing to provide you with more information on these programs to see if they pique your interest.*Please review the Liberal Studies Viewbook as well as the Global Liberal Studies Viewbook to learn more about these opportunities.
*
After reviewing this information, if you believe either program is a fit for you, the admissions committee would like the opportunity to consider your application on a space available basis. If we are able to offer you admission into either of these programs, please be aware it would be unlikely NYU would be able to provide you and your family with financial assistance.
