2012-13 ACT booklet math problem I didn't get

47. I can't figure out why AEC is 90. Explain please?

Consecutive interior angles are supplementary, so if BAC is 82, then ACD is 98. Since AE bisects BAC, EAC is 41, and since CE bisects ACD, ACE is 49. Now you have two angles of triangle AEC, so you can figure out the third. 180-(41+49) = 90. Therefore, the missing angle of the triangle, AEC, is 90 degrees. Hope that helped. :)
