2012 & 2013 Dodge College Freshman Class Statistics

I hope to hear how Chapman U preview day 2013 went for the new parents whose students were admitted this year (not just for Dodge College new students). Last year at Dodge College when I attended Preview day for my S as a new parent they handed out a summary sheet showing the incoming Freshman Class Statistics. I called the Dodge College office today and a student worker gave me the updated info as I have shown below for 2013. This info will be useful for parents whom will be still be helping out Chapman U perspective students on the College Confidential site during the next couple of years. Hopefully the new parents can step in to help out as the old parents of sophomores thru seniors like me stop posting.

These numbers are interesting. I’m surprised that the in state/OOS ratio went the way it did; I expected there to be more OOS this year than last, with Chapman/Dodge becoming better known outside of CA.

Awesome. Have you got numbers for other colleges/majors?

Hi StangeBro,

The statistics for incoming Freshman regarding Dodge College that I posted were obtained during preview week given to parents & students whom were admitted to Dodge College in 2012 &2013. This information can be found nowhere else on the internet except here. Since I only attended the Dodge College major preview day session last year (because my S was admitted then) I do not know what other Chapman U majors outside of Dodge College are told when they attend their majors’ sessions.

I know there was a highly attended Preview Day this year thru an article I read in the Orange County Register newspaper (which is now only available if you subscribe to this newspaper), that over 2,000 high school seniors, transfer students and their parents attended this event. But there was not even one post by anyone on the Chapman University College Confidential site (here) about their experiences at this 2013 Preview Day. So if they found out or students find out as the fall semester commences regarding other majors at Chapman U statistical breakdowns it is up to them to post it otherwise it will not be available to others.

I previously called the Chapman U admissions department and asked if freshman major statistical information is available or posted anywhere to the public and they said no.

The only information that I have ever been able to find out regarding majors at Chapman U is thru the College Navigator website:

http://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/

They show on this website how many students graduated in each major at Chapman U (numbers of awards conferred) so you can extrapolate to some extent the percent of each major that was admitted. That is the only information that I was ever able to come across; so you can work with this data:

College Navigator also shows the 50th and 75the percentiles for the SAT for entering freshman:

All the best, Sukahjoy
