can we check in their website?????

^^only internationals... are you really male?

no, n thnx.;)

I got waitlisted at Wellesley..is that a good thing considering the fact that I'm probably the first girl in my school in the past eight years to have been waitlisted while all are rejected?

Okay, I live in another suburb of Boston that is only 30 minutes away from Wellesley, so the fact that it is here already doesn't mean any of y'all's packages got lost in the mail somewhere.

what is the waitlisting rate at wellesley? is it easy to get off the waiting list? do we call them to ask what number we are on the list?

It differs from time to time but it doesn't hurt to show your interest for the school if waitlisted.

I got accepted ED, but I figured I'd post the same thing apathy did to help future applicants figure Wellesley's admissions standards out.

Accepted ED

Stats:

* SAT: 2310 (800 Wr, 780 M, 730 R)
* SAT II: Math IIC: 780, USH: 730
* GPA: 3.47 UW, but HUGE upward trend (1st Semester Freshman Year: 2.9, 1st Semester Senior Year: 3.9)
* Rank: Likely right around 50% because of my GPA, but I also attend a highly selective school.
* Other Tests: 5 on USHAP

Subjective

* Essays: Pretty strong main essay about letter writing as an intern in DC, very strong and heart-felt "Why Wellesley" essay
* Teacher Recs: Very good, I think. I didn't see them, but I know both teacher well. Also, one of them was from the teacher I've got the lowest grades from, so I think that helped.
* Counselor Rec: Very good. I know my counselor well.
* Supplementary Material: None.
* Hook: I've done a lot of work in Law and Politics, so I obviously have shown interest in those fields, but I also have good math grades and test scores, so that probably helped.

Personal

* Location: California
* High School Type: small, highly selective private school
* Ethnicity: Caucasian
* Gender: Fem
* Applied for Financial Aid: No

Other

* Extracurriculars: lots of politics, law, and community service. I've also done random stuff in art and sports.
* Awards: Zilch. My school doesn't give them, and I didn't get them anywhere else.
* Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: If you have negatives (in my case, my GPA and class rank), really emphasize your positives. Write strong essays and show Wellesley why you love them.

D waitlisted. Her letter said Wellesley does not order their waitlist candidates, and typically 300+ accept spots on the list. They take anywhere from 45-0 students from the list. All this info was included in the letter from Wellesley. Congrats to the acceptees, and good luck to the waitlistees! (waitlistees?)

I got in RD! I don't even believe it. I'm so friggin' happy. This is probably an annoying post to read for those who didn't get in.... but yeah. WOOOO WEllesley!!

I hope that gives other current/future possibles hope! I love Wellesley (if only they offered me more aid! Haha)! Oh, happy day! :)
