Hi all,
without registering for application to Clemson can you tell me what the essays are?

also what are the current avg SATs & ACTs for OOS? ( are instate much different?) How about the 2012 SAT cut off for the to earn in state scholarship? I know it changes year to year but most recently?
Many thanks!

I can answer the essay question for you. No real essay required. There’s a place for you to write one or two paragraphs about yourself, but that’s it.

There’s no essay, just a spot for you to write one of your choice if you feel it helps explain something in your application etc… (it’s just considered so if you have nothing important to add you don’t have to write one).

Average SAT Critical Reading score is 550-650, for SAT Math 590-680 and for the ACT 25-30 (no clue what it is for just out of state students). The cut-off for out of state scholarships is 1280 on the SAT (CR+M) and 28 on the ACT (in addition you have to be ranked in the top 10% of your high school class)

So the only way you can get scholarships from the school is with those stats ?
Also , do you need recommendations for the school? And , what’s the average class size ?

unless you show that you have significant financial need on your FAFSA form, those are the stats you need for out of state scholarships. Recommendations are not required, average class size is 31 students (% of classes about 100 students is 3%, student faculty ratio is 16:1)

I got 1340 on the May SAT which I sent to Clemson in June. All kinds of other schools are contacting me, but I have not recieved a provisional acceptance from my top choice - Clemson. (I am a B+ student at a competitive private school). Is this a bad sign?
