<p>I met the deadline, but haven’t received an email yet. Well they did say June 15 and there is still some time before the day ends.</p>
<p>I received my housing assignment. It’s for Donlon. I don’t know if I should worry or be happy though. Seems I was not matched properly.</p>
<p>My D who is now a junior, was in Donlon as a freshman and LOVED it. It fostered a lot social interaction but you could get away from it if you wanted.</p>
<p>My daughter (and her pre-arranged roommate) were assigned the Townhouses. To be honest, I think she was a little disappointed. But I pointed out that she’ll have air-conditioning and is, apparently, very close to RPCC and the bus stop.</p>

<p>On second look the room information is up online for me at the housing site, I didn’t get an email though, but in any case I got ’ Court Hall '.</p>
<p>My daughter got in Mews. Anyone know anything about it? I knw its one of the newest, but that’s about it.</p>
<p>Court and Mews are two of the newer buildings. Court, however, is connected to Kay and Bauer as well. Mews is actually next to Donlon and closer to Appel, but has two distinct wings to it.</p>
<p>Also, one needs to be careful with the bus stops since they can get extremely crowded in the mornings. Just plan ahead to reach your class location on time.</p>

Same. My would-have-been roommate and I both got singles in Dickson. Don’t know much about Dickson. Anyone know?</p>
<p>I requested and got a single in Balch! Very happy… I’m on the 4th floor :)</p>
<p>The low (and high) rises are kind of a pain to go around in since they were built to be riotproof. Balch may seem built riotproof too (consider its maze-like nature), but it’s one of the oldest buildings on campus.</p>
<p>Dickson is pretty old, too; and it’s apparently the biggest dorm in the Ivy League. It’s mostly singles in fact.</p>

<p>I got Donlon, too. It looks to be pretty social from what I’ve read online, so I’ll see how that goes. I’m no social butterfly, but I like meeting new people.</p>
<p>It is pretty close to both community centers, so that seems nice.</p>
<p>Our son was very happy with a single in Mews last year. Not quite so pleased with his housing option for sophomore year … in one of the program houses on North Campus. He wanted one of the houses on West Campus. The housing lottery isn’t much fun, but I guess you can’t expect to luck out two years in a row.</p>
<p>Donlon is a nice dorm in that there really seems to be a nice sense of community there. The rooms are older and a bit worn, but the windows are huge and the study lounges are always full. My D really loved living there. She is an engineer so she had to study a lot and managed fine there.</p>
<p>I would recommend you be VERY thorough on your check in inspection. I would recommend you take pictures too and save them with a date stamp. Note everything! Nothing is too minor. Cornell is really picky on that. My d had a corner of a carpet square that was lifted slightly when she moved in. Since it was practically under the bed she didn’t worry about it. Cornell wanted to charge her $85 to fix it after she moved out. Took nearly 2 months to straighten that out.</p>
<p>My son has a double in Mews. He is really excited about that.</p>
<p>Son was assigned a single in Court. He wanted a double…any parents have experience with a freshman in a single? Worried he might be very lonely (he’ll be VERY far from home)…I think he’s excited about the dorm assignment, but he’s also a little concerned about being completely on his own.</p>
