Wavechaser3425 wow congrats! You’ll love it. Hopefully I’ll be as lucky as you (:

What was your GPA/ACT and that sort of thing? @wavechaser

Hm. Everyone who has applied ED at my school got in, except for myself and another who applied for Bio. Neither have been notified. :(

jreeder18, Wishing you the best! Hope to see you in the classroom?! Aha.

csavoia,

My Stats:
CSU/UC GPA: 4.17
ACT: 27
SAT: 1900 (1190 Math + Reading)

*** My standardized test scores are pretty below average though, but I think my GPA and courseload saved me.

Oh, that’s cool. Your did Compsci? I’m a bit worried because my GPA is only ~3.4 unweighted ~3.55 weighted and my ACT is 28…

To answer Michael2’s question regarding keeping your GPA up or possibly having your acceptance revoked, here is the answer:

What they want to see is that you maintain your GPA at what I will call a “substantially similar” level as that with which you had at the time of application.

Do not get “senioritis” and slide for the rest of your senior year. Do not get a grade lower than a “C” for any reason. Substantially similar is vague and up to their discretion. Remember, Cal Poly needs to maintain their stats as well to stay competitive. If you slide and potentially bring down the overall entering freshman class, expect them to reevaluate your acceptance. Now you need to maintain your GPA not just for you but for them too. You are now in partnership with the school.

So, don’t freak out about this. Just keep doing what you are doing. Keep up the grades as much as you can and you should be just fine. If you made it into Cal Poly you obviously are no slouch. Just cruise at the same speed that got you accepted in the first place. Awesome job guys!!

so excited
accepted for biochem. already posted my stats in another page so i won’t do it again. ridiculously happy. just a few of my little opinions:
- as far as the conditional acceptance, i’ve gotten basically half a’s and half b’s in my high school career. in my opinion, i think i’m safe getting a few extra b’s, but im not going to chance it with c’s. just don’t dip too far below your acceptance gpa. we all worked so hard, i don’t think any of us wants to risk anything just because it’s senior year. (no matter the temptation! lol)
- to those who haven’t gotten accepted yet: i see no rhyme or reason to the order of acceptances. just be patient. and regular decision is still a very viable option to those who aren’t accept early decision. they do honestly just fill up their quota for early decision fast.
- wavechaser3425 and jreeder18 (hopefully, good luck!) see you in the classroom next year!! :)

congrats to everyone, join that facebook group! :)

csavoia, I went for biochemistry. I’m not sure how impacted or “strict” the CompSci major is, so I don’t really know what that department is looking for. I kind of see CP’s admissions to be a little… inconsistent, for lack of a better term. I’ve read about acceptances for people who had the same stats that you have, as well as rejections for people who had higher stats. In any case, I wish you luck!

mkonjibhu, Haha, that’d be awesome! Congrats, fellow biochem-er. See/meet you in a couple of months!

I’m so happy!! Cal Poly is my first choice school. Here are my stats:

Business Administration/Accounting

GPA: 3.96
SAT: 1210 (pretty surprised they accepted this, I recently got a better SAT just in case)
Lots of extracurriculars

Thank you College Confidential for the help!! AND HECK YEAH MUSTANGS!!

Wish everyone else good luck!!

Congrats everyone!!
to the people who haven’t been notified yet: keep your hopes up and be optimistic. good luck!

sharpiecatmoose, hope to see you in in the classroom
i’m a business admin major as well

@casurfer- congratulations! i’m looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the business admin people soon :)

Accepted!!
Civil Engineering
GPA for Cal Poly: 3.95
Full GPA: 4.14
SAT: 2110 (1410 CR + M)

@csavoia I got accepted into Computer Science.
GPA: 4.18
ACT: 26

Does each major do it’s own admissions? Like civil engineering vs general? Or does the whole engineering school do it together?

Starting to worry that I didn’t hear back today, it sounds like the only posters are being accepted right now, so I don’t know what to expect for later.

I haven’t seen anyone post the major I applied for… General engineering, so I’m hoping they haven’t sent them out yet. And I thought that one guy roy said they rejected him earlier?

I applied for Computer Science and my portal status hasn’t changed :’(
I feel like if I didn’t hear from them today and other people got in already for compsci, then my chances are pretty much over
:((

My son has been accepted into Mathematics. GPA 4.0, CP weighted maxed at 4.2, SAT 1470. EC and Work little but all in major. Very happy this was only school he was interested in, fell in love with it during a visit. He first one I see in Math, any others??

@Tfence

That’s exactly my situation. It’s pretty stressful- SLO is the school I see myself so happy and it will suck if I don’t get in. Is it possible to hear back on the weekend? Good luck

@NIfashionT For sure!! I can’t wait to go and hopefully meet a whole bunch of fun, new people. Hopefully everyone is open to being social!
