It’s never been like this, or we would have told you about it before time. It’s typically slow, but you could always register for housing and check your decision within an hour or so.

227 is a GREAT priority number.

Should I apply for housing even if I’m not sure if I’m going to Fsu yet?

irish21, Do you think there’s a good chance of going to FSU?

If so, I’d recommend applying. You will have to pay a $250 deposit, but if you end up going to another school, you will be refunded $200 of it.

The only way I’d recommend not doing it is if you think there’s a very low chance of going to FSU or if you think you might want to live off campus in Tallahassee as the agreement binds you to live in housing for a year if you do go to FSU.

I think I’ll take the chance and apply then because it’s between here and Florida and FSU’s scholarship looks nice. Thanks

Irish, if you can afford to pay the $225 and accept that you will only be refunded $175 if you let FSU know (by May 1, I think) that you are not attending then sign up! But if you do sign up and attend FSU, you are obligated to pay for the entire housing cost for both fall and spring. In other words, you can’t then decide to live off campus.

Matt, the housing checklist says it’s $225 for the housing prepayment.

DEFERRED 4.2 weighted GPA, 2020 sat, hispanic, 284 service hours, dont know what to do right now i thought i was in for sure…

Wow…people have been accepted with much lower stats. I would call them, read post on this thread somebody gave instructions on how to do so.

Your SAT is much higher then their 50% average, do you know your FSU GPA ?(core classes only, .5 for Honors 1.0 for Ap)

Anyone who can’t log on to FSU, check your email accounts. FSU is sending out decisions via email because of the temporary server glitch. The housing sign up is suspended too.

yeah its higher than their 75% percentile lol… and i’m calling now. don’t know my fsu gpa but i assume it’d be mid to low 3’s. This was sort of my safety/match so i guess i’m screwed for uf

You call them and ask them what gpa they have for you, I have read of people doing it here.

Deferredlol, unless you have an obvious reason to be deferred (ie, you didn’t meet the minimum SAT/ACT standard or received a D or a F for a semester grade) then I would contact admissions. Last year an IB student with an impressive GPA and SAT was deferred from my daughter’s high school. He contacted admissions and it was a mistake. I have heard of this happening before.

Did anyone else apply on the day of the deadline? I did, but when I log in to check if I got in, it doesn’t say anything. Only my application information like name/ scores etc

wasn’t a mistake…apparently my semester grades for calculus (shouldn’t have taken, have no interest in pursuing any career involving math) were a bit low and they decided to defer me because of it. now i have to wait for another 4 months…ridiculous

ya Deferredlol either they made a mistake or you have a skeleton or two in your closet lol

And you taking calc too that’s wierd too many people getting deferred that I thought would get in over me

also i believe he said my fsu gpa was 3.3 or 3.4… gpa > scores in terms of importance

My son can now access the system to check his application status - but there is no indication of being accepted, rejected, or deferred. Where is this found at?

should be the first thing he sees when he opens the page

it goes direct to his application details - personal, application, transcripts, test scores. Noo indication. Guess we’ll call.
