<p>Don’t know what my FSU GPA is but I got 3.38 uw and 4.1 weighted at my school 1690 SAT… I think my leadership roles in clubs at my school got me in probably based on you some of you getting deferred.</p>

<p>Your decision is by far the most shocking. Based on what I’m reading in this thread, I think I’m not going to predict anyone’s decision for next year! I don’t know what happened, but there have been a LOT of shocking deferred applications. Make sure you guys all come back and post the final decision in March; I’d be shocked if you don’t get in.</p>
<p>I think you still have a decent shot for UF, as the GPA and SAT fall into the upper portion of their middle 50. Plus, they should be experiencing a bit of the “anti-flutie” effect.</p>
<p>2 people from my FL high school are saying they got a “full ride” but I have great stats (NMSF, 31 ACT etc). I only got the freshman scholarship ($1200 a semester).</p>
<p>They aren’t thaaat great of students either (not trying to sound arrogant).</p>
<p>Are they just exaggerating? Because on the scholarship site it only mentions the freshman one.</p>

<p>I was accepted, but without a scholarship. If my GPA goes up from an FSU GPA of 3.7 to a 4.1 after my first semester senior year grades, is it possible that they could offer me one?</p>
<p>Math, Its my understanding FSU offers some <em>in-state</em> NM scholars some additional funding over the University Scholarship. FSU no longer offers exorbitant NM scholarships, opting to instead offer monies like the University Scholarship to more bright students, as opposed to a few. Some schools still offer NM students large scholarships (e.g. UCF) in effort to raise their university academic profile.</p>

<p>Chances are they are exaggerating, which is common as we all know. You may well be the real deal and know what the academic elite receive from FSU in general. In your case, if FSU is where you want to go but Yale is offering a nice package, I’d contact Honors and see if more could be done for your financial package. FSU will compete for talented Floridians. Don’t wait on this however… </p>
<p>Other reasons include being a talented athlete or musician and so on, but usually such students are easily recognized by their peers as being exceptional in high school.</p>

<p>Apparently started by a self-proclaimed student at FSU, and some of the members are vendors, so I’m thinking this is a marketing tool as well as a place to meet others in your Class of ‘16. If it’s like prior years’ groups, there will be offers for roommate matching services that you have to pay for. </p>
