2012 FSU accepted / rejected thread !

How can you tell if you were rejected or deferred?

I got accepted for the summer and my stats are:
Unweighted GPA: 3.3
Weighted GPA: 3.6
SAT: 1060/1550
ACT: 24
I’ve taken mainly honors and AP classes and I’ve been very involved in community service. I’m the historian of Key Club and the secretary of Beta Club. I have also been involved in Chorus, Drama, FBLA, Book Club, and a national essay contest. I’m also a certified user in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint and I have 180+ community service hours. I have also organized by own animal supply drive and raised over $300 for pediatric cancer. My essay was also pretty good.

I hope that helped anyone that were curious and seeing who FSU decides to accept.

congratulations lalily! hopefully i will see you there if i get accepted for C.A.R.E. as well!

Accepted 25 ACT, 3.5 gpa, IB program and Florida resident.

I can’t believe a 2090 got deferred

I guess they’re getting a LOT tougher, as my friend had a 3.6 and a 2090 and he got deferred too.

^Dang…!!!

Does anyone know the admissions decision statement for a deferred or rejected candidate?

Thanks Jossie, but I’ll actually be going to UCF instead lol

once again guys: call admissions early tomorrow to see what they didnt like

and lily: aw :frowning: have fun with the water prices in orlando, haha

when can we apply for housing? tonight?

My sis got deferred. Not sure what her GPA was, but she had a 1630 SAT. 480 math, so I’m pretty sure that’s why (didn’t meet the requirement). Hopefully she’ll restest and get that score up!

slinger, you’d be better off sending your daughter to FSU.

1) better gym
2) better people (and friendlier!)
3) their academics are close enough (UF beats FSU but not by a lot, really - also, she should think about if she will have fun her four years)

My son got accepted for Summer 2012 (although he will be requesting fall instead of summer) but if not, will be going in the summer.

GPA - 3.8 weighted
ACT - 24 (superscored to 25)
Mostly all honors classes
Varsity highschool swimming 2 years
Competetive swim club - 2 years
Instate

I cant see whether I got in or not!! is anyone else having this problem??

Haha Jossie! My daughter’s friends at FSU have said the same thing. But, it’s her choice. One big factor will be the boyfriend who is pretty much a shoe-in for UF (was invited for the outstanding high school scholars weekend this past summer at UF). I guess we have to wait until February. FSU is an awesome choice though…lots of her friends received acceptances tonight.

I think it is basically my GPA/grades that got me deferred, gonna retake the SAT in January as well as submit my new grades. Hopefully I get accepted then, if not I will be going to FAU, UNF or USF.

seeing some of those who got deferred makes me wonder how I got accepted. (in state, 3.35uw, 3.76w, 29 ACT, and 1740 SAT)

lol im looking at UF’s rec center - lame. its not even open half the day.

but that’s sweet that she has a boyfriend.

Demetrius82 do you know what the messege for your admissions decision was?

I think that FSU really wants a well-rounded person. Sometimes there are people who have excellent grades, but probably didn’t do anything during high school.
