Got an interview with Johns Hopkins Pharmacology. They have the same interview dates as Yale Pharmacology ;_;.

@NeuroTheory It tends to be low since funding is more limited for foreign students. A lot of the funding for these programs come from the government in one way or another so international students are ineligible. The composition of funding sources for first year students determines how many international students the department can take.

@denizen- Mount Sinai is the School of Medicine on the Upper East Side. NYU Sackler is the graduate school of NYU School of Medicine. They are separate programs.

@nrds35, can you please tell me when you submitted your application? Thanks!

Also, I never knew this, but on GradCafe where you seach admissions results, if you hover over the red diamond you can see the applicant’s stats. #themoreyouknow

let me correct, the email had a typo…interview dates are January 9-10.

@langerhans-I submitted my application on November 15th. I believe that they have rolling admissions.

@denizen2-yo, where are you getting interviews to?

@denizen, if the schools that invited you were any of the ones I applied to (see 1st post), and the same program (immuno), would you be able to send me a private message telling me which schools?

Denizen PM me too! What schools/programs and stats?

It’s not as if I applied to any of those either, just curious to know where people are hearing from. It can’t really be a state secret can it?

yes I’d definitely like to know if i should be panicking or not (already panicking since people are getting invites to ucsf and mt. sinai)

I wish the engineering thread had as much activity as this thread.

/engineer

@denizen, thanks and congratulations!
@dietcokehead7, let’s keep our fingers crossed and remain hopeful.

@hasuchObe: cuz engineering departments haven’t sent out interview invitations yet. I’m waiting for that as well. I think that thread will be active soon.

Btw, engineering students don’t talk a lot about their things :D

Just got my subject test scores (cell and molecular biology). I don’t know if these scores will help or hurt me: Overall 660 (90%), Biochem 73 (99%), Cell Bio 57 (65%), Mol Bio and Genetics 62 (82%). They are kind of all over the place, anyone have an opinion? Or does anyone know how much of a difference subject test scores make in general?

Hi There,

For those of you applying to Berkeley or UCSF:
I know for a fact that this year Berkeley and UCSF are sending invites before the Holidays. I know the people who do admissions. You should get invites by Friday at the latest.

^ what programs? I’m Neuro…

Berkeley MCB by Friday. UCSF… not so sure (whatever the equivalent of Berkeley MCB is). Berkeley contact told me UCSF and Berkeley agreed to send all invites before the holidays.

Has berkeley mcb sent any out yet? I haven’t seen anyone post about it. Also, is it just BMS? Because I thought TETRAD was alwaysss after the holidays?

Other Berkeley programs as well? Or just MCB

I can only speak for MCB. I do not think they have sent out invites yet, but I do not know for sure. What I do know for sure is MCB by Friday.
