2012 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

Just got an interview for University of Michigan PIBS (Biophysics).

This is one of my top choices–I’m so excited!

I think it would be really helpful if everyone who gets invites posts the interview dates…It’s going to get crazy with scheduling interviews pretty soon…
I have just received an e-mail invite from U Maryland-Baltimore-Neuro and they have 3 interview weekends: Jan 27, Feb 3, Feb 10.
It is one of my last choices, but being the only invite so far I assume I’m attending. It would be really helpful if people who got invites from these schools could tell me the interview dates: (all Neuro programs)

Harvard
Hopkins
Columbia-Neurobiology & Behavior
UPenn
Weill Cornell
Mt Sinai - only Jan 9-10 I guess?
NYU Sackler
Georgetown
Tufts

Thanks so much everyone!

UCSD Chemistry interviews are February 10th or March 9th.

UM PIBS are either January 26th or February 2nd.

Just found out from the admissions office that Weill Cornell will send invites out “after the holidays” and recruitment weekend will be Feb 22-24.

So according to the latest Gradcafe posting…it appears to be true that Berkeley is calling for interviews before friday as earlier stated. A UCB-MCB invite is posted.

i wouldn’t read too much into that one post. it also says it’s for spring 2012 phd admissions, whatever that means. i didn’t think they had a spring option for the phd program, and besides, it’s still early in the week.

I don’t know if it’s true that TETRAD will have sent out ALL its invites by the end of this week, but I can confirm that interviews have already STARTED being sent out.

would UCSF BMS fall under that category of sending invites by this Friday? gulp?

@neurogirl4 Thanks for letting the rest of us know.

@denizen4: Thanks for the advice.

My interview dates, all neuro programs:

February 2-3
February 23-24

UPenn

Harvard

Today rules!

University of Wisconsin Biophysics invite! March 2nd - 4th.

I don’t feel so bad for not hearing from UPenn BMB last week anymore…!

A lot of schools but considering mediocre creds I think the shotgun approach was appropriate :)

I called Berkeley MCB 5 minutes ago and they said “We are discussing when we will be releasing interview invites at our meeting today; however, it will definitely be after the holidays”

Conflicting intel?

U Washington MCB - rejected by email just now.

^ Same here.

sorry guys :-/ probably would have had the same email if i had applied there

There is certainly a slew of them going out right now.

Yea, gradcafe’s results list is blowin’ up.
