Yeah, I agree with you. If you look at last year’s stuff, MIT Biology only sent out on one day. ((I said this earlier today!)) And then the next week they sent out the rejections… I said no news is good news to pumiliod for UW-MCB since they have sent out a lot of rejections over the past few weeks.

Does anyone know when you find out with whom you’re interviewing? I’ve emailed some of the schools about this and haven’t really gotten any responses about it.

It depends on the program. I’ve had one that said that they’ll have blurbs about my interviewers in the packet I’ll get at the hotel, and I’ve had others say that they would email me a list a couple days before the interview.

@lost in elysia
I have only heard back from Hopkins CMM. They actually sent me the list of their faculty members and asked me to narrow it down to 5-6 people I would like to interview with. I just have been a bit too lazy in sending them my list. :s

So I guess as mobio2012 said, it really depends on the program.

@lost in elysia, I’ve only got a response from Columbia, the interview for which is next week. Even Upenn hasn’t gotten back to me although they asked me to pick faculty, and their interview is this week!

Thanks for the responses guys. I’m getting confused as to whose papers I should be reading now…

The worst case scenario is not finding out with whom you’re interviewing until the morning right before the interview. In such cases, I remember sneaking off for longer than normal bathroom breaks so I could look professors up on my smart phone.
Its a lot nicer when the programs email you your schedule ahead of time.

Hello!
I have my stats on Pg 6, but so far I’ve heard back and gotten interviews from Albert Einstein, Drexel, Jefferson, NYU Sackler, Temple Psych, NIH-Brown Program, and UPenn Neuro.
Assuming rejections from Columbia and Harvard since I haven’t received anything yet, and I haven’t heard back from Hopkins Neuro or Georgetown either.

And lostinelysia, Einstein sent me names of 2 professors so far with whom I’ll be interviewing with, and said that I would get the rest on the day of. I think it’s safe to assume that if you only find out about your interviewers on the day of your interview, they don’t expect you to know much about their research anyway.

Also, my roommate heard back from UCIrvine Interdepartmental Neuro Program in December

@mobio2012 Fed ex package from Rockefeller?

Davis BMCDB invite just now by phone

Just spoke with NYU Sackler. Seems that they have only reviewed 40% of applications and that all invites won’t be out until mid- February.

Just got an interview invitation to UCONN Health Center Biomedica Science program, February 10-11.

The fedEx package is the acceptance!

Rejection from UCSF. What a flattering first email to get from colleges I applied to.

@goaliejoe

Yeah, Rockefeller sends out acceptance packages via FedEx.

Very polite rejection from ucsf bms.

Yea another UCSF Reject here :-/

same here, UCSF, rejected

Does anyone know whether Northwestern IBiS is still sending out interview invites???

eneffKbee: there hasn’t been an invite on gradcafe since Jan 4th. It seems like they’re done, but you never know.

does rockefeller send out emails at all?
